Audio running faster than video

So I made a video today with Camtasia and I was just watching it before posting the link and realized that the audio track is running faster than the video track. This happened last time I tried to make a video also, but in the past I did get a few to work correctly.

So basically it quickly becomes unwatchable as the audio and video get further out of sync.

Anyone know what causes this and how to fix it?

Thanks.

I use to have this problem until I got a new computer, so Im assuming my older computer caused the lag.

Thanks Haterade (for replying in both forums!).

I just reproduced the video in WMV instead of AVI and it worked this time, so if anyone else has this issue, try WMV.

Will be posting as soon as the upload finishes.

I fix this problem with a free program called VirtualDub.

I had this problem when starting and it was with the "Voice Narration" option in Camtasia when I was working on an Athlon 2200 or something like that.

I just used the "Camtasia Audio Editor" If I was recording Audio. Usually for any vid, I think I've done 10 of the damn things now, I made I did the audio after the fact as the one live video I tried I couldn't articulate my thought process fast enough in some circumstances and I think I used the phrase "YAUS" at least 3 times and annoying things like the phone ringing happened Smile . No lag issues though.

The Audio editor allows you to just record the sounds and then import it as a wav file rather than binding it to the Video stream. Just a bit more flexible.

Also I found Windows Media Encoder 9 to be really good compressing the files down to about 1 meg a minute while keeping high vid and sound quality

FWIW, on the few coaches who have had this problem (it's always been a sound card issue so far -- when we use a USB microphone the sound card is on the USB chip and we haven't had sync issues at all with it), I've had success using YAAI.

How to use YAAI

It's a bit hit or miss but I've had success with it.
