My trial version of camtasia studio recently expired and I'm currently looking for other options to record videos of myself playing. I'm aware of Screencast-o-matic & its $9 fee for 1 hour videos. I was wondering if there is currently any good free software out in the market these days. I don't need all the fancy editing camtasia offers, just the basics similar to screencast-o-matic.

I'm also looking for this software, though I'm probably just going with screencast-o-matic. I did see a product called "webinaria", looks like it's open source like camstudio, wondering if anyone's tried it?

Camtasia is on thepiratebay.org and demonoid.me. I downloaded the program and it has been working perfectly for 5 months and is virus free. It took me a total of 15 minutes to download and install. Can't get any cheaper than that.

is pretty good. $9 for Pro is well worth it.

fwiw, I went ahead with the screencast-o-matic Pro option and made a 30 minute test video last night. Very pleased with the results, can't imagine shelling out for camtasia for my needs (simple session recordings, doubt I'll ever have a need for a vid longer than 1 hr.).
