I understand developing a good interface for the uploads would be a complicated process. But it would be good, to simply specify an ftp address where we can use our own ftp programs. This would definetly help as we could immediately identify speeds, duration and most importantly lost connections and transfer resumes.
Cheers

hey rob
i am using firefox 3.5.1 and uploaded a video just now.
when clicking the upload button there was a whole lot of pop ups i had to go through, firefox telling me it's not trustworty etc, i had to click on "i understand the risks"
membervideos.deucescracked.com.s3.amazonaws.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is only valid for *.s3.amazonaws.com.
(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)
so i click on "add exception" but the screen stays like it is.
not even sure if it's currently uploading, as there is no progress bar

Hey George,
How big is the file and how long did you wait? It takes quite a while for most average connections to upload a movie.

I'll look into this; it looks like it has something to do with trying to upload to https rather than http, but it shouldn't be doing that -- I'm on a coffeeshop connection so I can't test it right now but I'll test it from home later today.

Guys,
It looks like some of you are having issues, but it doesn't sound exactly like what i'm having so wanted to go ahead and post.
I'm trying to upload my first video. I'm using IE8. I kept using a CMD/netstat to see if I was conecting to anything and it wasn't moving any data. I cleared my cache/cookies/etc. to see if it was browser related. Then, when I tried to upload I can see (via netstat) that I time_wait, established, then close_wait really quckly to IP Address 216.137.33.216 (which ARIN says is amazon)..but my video didn't upload. My file size is 3MB - so not very big.
Any help is appreciated..thanks in advance. Mike

Is there a way to delete videos you've uploaded?
I uploaded one with a space in the name, so when I tried to link to it, the link was broken. I re-uploaded it with a better name thinking I could delete the first one, but I don't seem to be able to.
No reason to take up all your disk space

I too am receiving the https issue when using chrome and firefox. See below.
https://membervideos.deucescracked.com.s3.amazonaws.com/
This is probably not the site you are looking for!
You attempted to reach membervideos.deucescracked.com.s3.amazonaws.com, but instead you actually reached a server identifying itself as *.s3.amazonaws.com. This may be caused by a misconfiguration on the server or by something more serious. An attacker on your network could be trying to get you to visit a fake (and potentially harmful) version of membervideos.deucescracked.com.s3.amazonaws.com. You should not proceed.

I'm looking into the https messages you guys are getting; if you click to ignore the messages, you'll still be able to upload, but it should be something that we can prevent from you getting messages about -- will update this thread when I've figured it out.

I was able to download Chrome and get my file uploaded. I guess IE8 was just flaking out. I got the same messages as everyone else, but was able to click through and get it done. Thanks!

The message should no longer be happening -- I switched a few things on the upload method and tested it and it works and didn't give me any messages on my current setup. Let me know if you guys run into any problems again.

I have had this issue, or what I believe is the same a couple of times now both when using Firefox and Chrome.
Basically what I did was to choose the file and click upload and let the process run for 40 minutes on Firefox and afterwards 30 minutes on Chrome and in Firefox the circle thing was just spinning round and in Chrome it kept writing sending request.
Therefore I tried Megaupload and it took 12 minutes to upload the file.
The file size is 370 MB so rather big, if it has anything to do with it.

Good call, I'll look into adding this.
Rob
For the time being, I've added it to the drop-down menu under "My DC" -- down at the bottom you'll see "my member videos" which can be clicked from any page.
Hope this helps

Thanks, that works! Now no more of that pesky URL typing.

I'm using Chrome and IE, tried to upload a 160 mega video twice. It got to 100% and then a screen appeared saying there was an internal error.
It says it'll fix itself shortly. How long should I wait before trying again?

I tried uploading a video using the link you provided ( http://www.deucescracked.com/member_videos ) and at the end of the upload, it said "failed: IO error". Any thoughts on how to fix this??

Make sure the file name you guys are uploading doesn't have any spaces -- there's a problem right now with file names with spaces that we're trying to fix. If you rename the file first (replace spaces with an underscore ("_"), it should work.

I took the spaces out, but instead of giving me the error message, it sat there at 100% and didn't change. So I closed out my browser and reopened it and the video didn't upload for whatever reason.
