Turn betsizing in 3bet pots
So I've noticed that a lot of the time Kranz replies to posts, his comments refer to bet sizing (and how bad it is), particularly in 3bet pots. I'm talking about my own hands and those of others.
So I thought I'd go through my database and filter for 3bet pots where I bet the flop and turn, post some of them and see what you guys think.
These hands are just dragged out of the db so I can't provide reads; let's just assume it's early in the match vs an unknown in all cases.
Since decisions whether to checkraise the turn normally depend on match flow (eg. I think villain is floating me in rr pots a lot), and to a lesser extent flop cbet sizing also depends on match flow (to balance with other cbets I've made in the match), I don't think there can be too much discussion about those here, so let's just try and concentrate the comments on turn betsizing. Of course if you think that the turn is an obligatory checkraise or the flop cbet size is terrible period then say so. (And I'm not saying that turn betsizing isn't dependent on match flow, just less so than the decision whether to bet the turn in the first place)
In the HH I've added in the effective stack size on the turn in each case. All hands are 200NL.
Don't feel that you need to comment on all the hands !

Hand 1: Fine
Hand 2: I prefer to crai, but if I bet thats what it would be
Hand 3: Bet a little more on the flop, maybe like 26, then fire 65ish into 92 on the turn
Hand 4: Fine assuming you have been double barreling, if not go for c/r
Hand 5: Same as 4
Hand 6: Fine
Hand 7: See 4
Hand 8: C/C river, draws missed, you only get value from 99-JJ, let him bluff
Hand 9: Fine
I might be wrong, but im pretty sure thats how they should go, feel free to ask why.
hand 2: why the overbet?
hand 8: I'm not sure I like the river shove. Wouldn't it be better to check and induce?
Others look fine, seems well balenced... I think Krantz is gonna cover this in a video soon...
I find it hard to comment on this without game flow information/reads. In general, your DB/CRing frequency and how villain perceives you, and your bet sizes up to that point heavily affect these imo.
I agree on hand 2 where I prefer a CRAI, and also hand 8 is a definite c/c unless you knew he's able to call you with a 6 there or 99. Your hand looks a lot like a busted draw but he will have that too quite often so let him bluff it.
Thanks for the feedback guys.
Re hand 2.
I don't remember my thought process at the time or the game flow, but looking at it now I'd say that if he called the flop with and A or a Q (which seems reasonably likely) then most of that range has now picked up a gutshot. So I figure I'm getting called by AT, AJ, KQ (2pair), and hopefully QT and QJ. Also he could have a fd- Qxd would probably have flatted the flop, and Kxd might have flatted the flop. CRAI turn is obviously better if he's on a pure float, but I guess I didn't put him on that. I suppose you could argue that since I'm getting the money in on 2 streets then I could go for the CRAI on the turn and if he checks back shove the river, but I think then a lot of his Qs fold (and would have been more likely to call the turn). And I'd hate for a J or T to roll off.
Re hand 8.
I agree with you all that this is misplayed- checkcall river is better.
I find hand #1 a bit out in left field..
I don't like the flop c/bet size.. if your going to bet here, I like $30-32..
The turn is kinda blah.. Its not a great card for you to fire at on this texture..
Other's that I looked at look

Before I agree or disagree with you, could you explain more of your thought process here as to why you are thinking this?
