I've notcied this from several players recently, where they are sitting at the table with 50 or 60BBs. Then when you sit down, after the 1st hand they buy in full. They seem to play about 5 hands then sit out. WTF is the deal with this?

There's one who donked out on me(OOP, c/c flop with underPR to board, shoved turn when he picked up an OESD, hit and left) and now refuses to play me, but I've watched him do the rebuy thing several times.
