Well it depends how passive villian is playing.
When he is very passive, this could be a scared Jx, 88, maybe T9. I dont think this is 8x very often. The only hand i think he could valuebet( and we beat/split) is 99 or TT.
With weak pairs or A-High weak tight players take often a cheap showdown.
The most of the time i expect him to bluff or semibluff @ Flop or the Turn. So based on this informations i just fold.
We need a little bit more informations how thin he is valuebetting and how he played other hands in 3-Bet pots i think.

really? do you expect a passive guy to bet a Jx on Flop or Turn. They are so often scared to get X-Raised ! But maybe im wrong
He wont bet 80% pot on the river with Jx.
Has way more bluffs than Jx and even if he had all jx combos, you got odds to call against bluffs:jx.
