I have 148 hands on the river bettor, 38/14 pre, 35% aggression, 32% river aggression. Fairly standard opponent for these stakes, loose pre and fairly tough post.

River caller is 100/29, 39% agg over 31 hands.

I hate making crying overcalls like this. HU with low bricking out, it's a pretty easy call IMO. But we're 4-handed for the 3.5 BB main pot and 3-handed for the 8.5ish BB side pot. If I need 7.6% to beat one player, that's like 28% (square root) to beat each in a 3-handed pot. It would be 42% (cube root!) to beat each of 3 opponents in a 12-bet 4-handed pot, but the side pot makes the math too hard to think about. Point is, each player decreases my winning chances exponentially.

But considering pot odds, the looseness of the caller, and the aggression of the bettor, do I have to call this?

Please also check my flop play, keeping in mind I have huge leaks and frankly am not very good at LO8 postflop.

I'm pretty comfortable folding here. It's pretty rare that someone would bet a non-flush into you on the river.

Forget PF stats - how loose is the caller showing down? Any idea? Like is it laughably bad? If I've seen him call with like J5/J2 here I call because it's not 3 handed. It's HU with some dead money.

I agree its a fold on the river. If someone is bluffing this river into 2 opponents(one of them being a calling station) without clubs, then they've got some big hairy ones.

I think you had to call on the turn with the size of the pot and closing the action. If it was smaller I would fold though. You have very little chance at high and are DRAWING for 1/2 or maybe 1/4.

The best part is you'll get to see a showdown so you can pat yourself on the back instead of wondering whether it was a bad fold

And I agree PF ranges don't matter a bit here. An unfortunate side effect of O8 is that any player no matter how tight can almost always have any two cards, because there are so many hands that are playable given 2 cards, regardless of the other 2, like A2xx, many A3xx, may AAxx or KKxx etc. You can never rule out a hand.

The place where ranges DO matter is when A2, A3, AA, etc make the nuts and you need to figure out how tight villain is to figure out how much of their range is hit by the boar.
