Thanks for posting, great video, I saw the community 7th street in a $1 stud8 sitngo on full tilt about a year ago
I haven't finished watching the video yet (because I just had to post), but it's already my favorite because it's the only video I've seen with a Bull Durham quote. FWIW, I often quote Bull Durham (yes, to myself - or my girlfriend if she's unfortunate enough to be in the room) while playing poker. Stud hi is probably my favorite game (outside of hi-lo chip declare, obv).
Enjoyed the vid, you guys better do a good job on stud8 because I'm going to notetake and criticise every hand.
I stopped the video half way through last night, thinking I could get right back to the middle, but the scan/fast forward whatever thing doesn't work for me on this video (it has on all other DC videos in the past). So maybe it's broke? Anyone else have this problem?
I guess I'll just have to watch the first part twice, not so bad.

Glad someone picked up on it! Chuck sure missed it, he's too young and doesn't like baseball either (he's a communist, imo).

Joe, back when you were in your 20's, accusations like that were not taken lightly.

Baseball has never been that popular, don't even joke about it!

Speaking for those of us who were actually alive for all of the '80s, it certainly was. At least it was in New York, when the Mets crushed Boston's soul. And people were still afraid of communism, crack and nuclear war instead of envelopes and plastic knives. And people still sold sex and drugs in Times Square instead of Hello Kitty and the Mickey Mouse. Yeah, good times.
Because of my studying limit hold em and having played some stud in the past,
I see this game totally differently than I did before.
I would like to see you guys discuss more on ..
1) what you have villain on...his range..
2) why we are betting or raising
basically the teaching techniques you use so well in limit,
they still apply here, its just a one more card hidden and we dont share boards.
actually comparing the differences and how we should change our thinking because of those differences might be interesting to talk about.
question at 33:44...
Mr Tall, you decide to raise with your 472r board and a concealed straight draw vs an open pair of 66.
I like this play, as I also thought villain had only the one pair with two high cards in the hole and we had a ton of FE.
But then you take a free card on 6th street.
DD calls this "congruency"...or lack there of, not maintianing our FE.
IMO, we fire 6th strteet.. villain folds, the point of the 5th street bet (I thought),
when we take the free card, we are forced to hit our straight because villain will become suspicious and call us down UI.
thoughts?
Note: I again want to re-enforce how much I enjoy when more than one of you is involved in a vid, the discussions/arguements and different thoughts are good teaching tools.
Thanks guys.
