Mixed Games Poker Forums

Looking to improve my mixed game and want to start with Omaha 8. I've read the section in Jeff Hwang's Big Play Strategy, and am wanting more information/ good video series to help me build a solid foundation.

I am looking to improve my full ring play first and work my way into shorthanded play.

Any advice would be great.

When first using the filters to search for videos I found a few videos, but no complete series for full ring Omaha 8. I will search make the jack a 4.

full ring is v basic at lower limits because it's so loose passive, 4,5,6 to the flop

Definitely check out a bunch of different videos. Some that BBB and I did have some FR some SH. Those will be great because we spend time talking about the difference. I'm of the opinion that SH will prepare you for FR but not so much the opposite.

And post hands/questions on my vids!!

frankly i haven't found any defense against the yhpnocall. sometimes i can resist the hypnocall though

Could you fine gentlemen perhaps do a vid/short/series/performance-art extravaganza that helps explain the key differences between PLO8 and limit O8, as I started with the former and having moved to the latter just can't believe how light I am being called down with, or how bad the hands are that people see flops with/continue with etc. That is, I keep thinking these guys are just total calling stations lucking into crazy rivers, but I could also be thinking completely wrong about limit O8 coming from a big-bet background. In fact, I never played limit hold'em and only have limit experience from O8 and a bit of Stud/Stud8...

Ok why did no one tell me this game is so fun? Playing a PLO8 Micro-Millions tourney right now and having an absolute blast. Holding my own for now based on the Joe tall vids. Except for when I got Sixthed ... sixthed ... who knew. No more secrets people. What the heck is a hypnocall?

Its great fun when you are running well. Don't relax until the last player has acted on the river, though, unless you have the mortal nuts in both directions.

Just doubled my money in the Micromillions --- LIKE A BOSS!!!! Definitely felt out to sea when it came to hand selection late into the tourney with a short stack. Felt like I might of been playing way too tight. Doubled up with 7453 and then jammed UTG with a suited AA86 - got called by KKJ6 one suit and had about 77% equity - K bink on the turn of course. Any advice on what kind of hands to look for late on and short?

they have em on the merge network. it's when you hypnotize your opponent into calling by typing a certain code in the chat
