Pre Flop: Hero is UTG with Q Diamond T Club K Diamond A Spade
Hero ???

What would best here? Limp or raise. Limping has the advantage of maybe creating a multiway pot, which is good. Many limper will have low hands that miss when I connect to the flop. And if I connect to the flop, I have a good chance to dominate other similar hands.

In my opinion, the question is to limp or fold. I would fold this hand in a shorthanded game, especially from early position because you are to often only playing for half the pot.

In a fullring game this hand can be played from MP or LP for one bet, although I would prefer the ace to be suited.

I would raise. It's a very good hand, but only for the Hi (obv). If you were sitting with 2Club instead of the 10Club, I would limp UTG to create a multiway pot. I almost always limp with this hand in EP to create a multi-way pot unless there are multiple people calling raises on a constant basis.

Regarding Wedge's comment, I think folding here is a mistake. At least see a flop and then judge what you'd do with it from there. If you hit this hand heavy with a pair or two plus a wrap draw...try to find out how hard you can hit the Raise button! Smile

You can limp. The thing about a hand like this is when you flop well, you flop a scoop so, the more the merrier.

Exactly what I though. I am looking for a high only flop where I will probably have the best hand. If the flop comes low, I can fold without much investment.

In the actual hand I raised, got 2 callers, and was forced to fold to a donk bet on a nasty flop.

Basically you are inviting variance into your play when raising here as you dont gain all that much.

I would raise that in 6max utg. (but fold in fullring). Limping is ok too depending on your style. But raising improves your chances of winning with 1 or 2 pair.
