Just wondering, does anybody open any 3 card 8s utg or utg+1 at a standard table. Like 238/258/268. Are they folds utg or playable? Does it change if the bb is a fish or even the sb?

Whats the worst 3 card hand that you would open utg? Assuming standard players at table no fish in blinds etc..

852 i think.

I was going to say open 832/842/852 UTG but fold 862 (i.e. agree with HJD, and I'm happy with that - he knows what he's doing). Yes if the blinds (or other opponents) are fish you should play more hands because you'll be able to outplay them later in the hand. Another thing is blockers: if you've got say 85522 it's better than AK852.

all these hands are better than 258 imo

652 may be worse than 852, but they are pretty equal imo.

Is it because 236 can still make a 7 low that its better?

i think there is not a big difference between 852 and 862. if u play 852. u often will get a 8652x or a 9852x at the showdown. so i think i is ok to play 268 from utg

If none of the blinds are people youre looking to play pots with usually fold 268 but open all the rest. 256 i guess IS pretty similar, but i never fold this Two wheelcards gets my heart racing
