Great start to the series Smile

Short handed would be great, also I think a 9 handed EP would be good - focusing on how you should adjust your 6max play to a fullring table. There's not a lot of 9 handed O8 content anywhere on the internet which makes me sad.

Thanks! Will certainly include some full ring stuff. We could put it all in one - I'll start a game @ a FR table and play as it fills up.

Nice vid, looking forward to the series. Love the ideas of game creation and of FR fwiw.

Good start to the series. I thought there was several spots that you mentioned liking the turn card where I would have maybe feared it.

Are you normally playing close to 40% VPIP on 6 max tables?

No not even close to 40% VPIP - the game was shorthanded for a while (I started the games) so my stats were pretty abnormal. I also I think I ran pretty hot PF as far as CO/Button goes

In these games I'd say I normalize to high 20's?

That makes sense. I was like wow 40 is pretty high, but didn't think about the game creation. Do you see some good LAGgy winning players that are near 40 or is it just pretty tough to play that many hands?

I don't typically see anyone w/stats like that who I think is a winner. Would love to be proven wrong though because playing more hands is always more fun imo!

Thanks for doing this series. I loved make the jack a four too. The live play/recording is very helpful. However, I was wondering if you could talk about some specific concepts in either powerpoint or with specific hand histories. As a new O8 player who's playing tight/straightforward and beating 1/2 I find myself struggling with these topics:

-When/why to 3bet preflop both for value and for isolation

-When to double barrel as a bluff/semibluff against various player types especially when you have some kind of bottom/second pair +- gutshot +- 3rd nut low draw that you don't want to check/call or check/fold but getting raised would be a disaster

-Spots where maybe you don't want to jam the flop in a bad relative position to keep fish who will peel light for one bet but wont for two in the pot, to let them hit their 8 high flush or 5th nut low or worthless two pair and get caught in jams on later streets. For example you're second to act in a 4 way single raise pot with two fishy players behind holding Ac2cXX; flop is 3c7cJs facing a bet in front of you from a) a tight solid player who has a lot of A2XX in his range and b) an aggro fish who's donking light with like second pair + gutter or second pair + 3rd nut low draw or top pair weak kicker + anything etc

-Spots where you want to knock players out on the flop to "clean up your outs" and just basically make the probability of you winning one half higher with marginal one or two way made hands or draws

-When to turn your paired deuce, missed low, missed high, weak made hand, etc, into a bluff

If you want I could look out for specific hands that address these concepts.

Thanks again

Jcrowe,

Awesome. I wish definitely include each of those concepts in a video going forward. I do talk a bit about bluffing my missed low in this ep but I'll put it in a HH to make it clearer.

please talk a little more about your aprroach to beeing first in in the smallblind.

when/why do you consider completing vs openraising

what does the player need to be like to favor either way

where to the cons to the raise or fold strategy overweigh this concept we all know from holdem

looking forward to the series!

also i'd like to hear you give your oppinion on adjusting to high rake games (maybe even below 2$/4$)

do you know how the "won $ when raise turn" statistics in holdem manager is calculated? how does the fact that its a splitpotgame weigh into that?

assuming somebody has like 50% or 70% w$raise turn, did he "win" money by making a profit or by just recieving any potion of the pot regardless if it was the high or lowside of the pot? id like to know how i should judge this stat when looking at its Hm stats

so long, cant wait to see more!

what do we do here if he bets instead of checking? i would think we want to call to get bb to put in dead money but we must have aton of equity here with a wrap and uncounterfittable nld.

im probably just over thinking and and we should call and hit.

I would like to see you playing in the mid/high to highstakes, so 15/30+.

I'd also prefer shorthanded play.

Jabroni alert! Yo diesel I'm drunk as hell just play the limits you want to and show us how to crush. Lo8 is super soft but it def is a rake trap at my stakes. Earlier tonight before going out I was playing with a bunch of drunk europeans who were capping 4th nut low draws + bottom pair 4 way it was awesome I made 30 BBs at 1/2 two tabling in about 20 minutes while pounding keystone with my roomies. Now I'm drunk as hell and playing O8 would be a poor choice.

Would you have opened 234J in cutoff if it was folded to you? I would have folded and wondered if being too nitty.
