i usually fold my bring in's unless i have two <=7 hole cards...is that an ok rule
of thumb or is it better to just fold those too? i thought he had good 3 card
starting hand so it wasn't based on a read that he was coming in with bad hands
or anything, so i don't know if the money already in the pot is enough to
try and pick up good or if it's not worth it? how bout hu vs one or two more
callers in between?
after you're into the hand (right/wrong), how far would u go in the hand below
should i have probably folded an earlier street?
thanks

Just fold 3rd since he isn't in a steal spot. If he was in seat 8 and opened into you maybe consider a defense but this is a clear fold. I know the structure on stars is such that it incentivizes you to defend your bring ins a bit more but if you don't know when to fold later you really need to get away.
Despite him bricking on 4th, you did too. He is still probably pretty far ahead with something smooth underneath the J. Best case scenario he has a J8 draw and you still have a KT draw, so this is a clear fold.
5th is a fold, 6th he still has a better hand than us even if he has a QJ and we are just hoping to outdraw him with one card to come. We can never make a hand that warrants a vbet on the end and we are hoping that we hit AND he misses. Even though that is what happened, you really just got super lucky.

Aside from everything that was said, its a auto muck on 3rd because you have zero live cards to hit. Make sure you take dead cards into account when you want to defend, even against what you think could be a steal.
