When he goes 2 to pat, then checks on the river I feel his range is really weak unless he's the sort to always go for the check/raise when he has the nuts. As such I'm pretty tempted to bet/fold.

That said, it's .10/.20 so that might be a bit thin and I don't have any read on him other than I once saw him freeze 86432 and check it on the river, which suggests I might not be in that great shape vs his pat range.

how about raise turn, bet river and have the nuts. the guy c/c'd and open patted, you have the best hand close to 100%. also, its .1/.2 and you have an 87

Ya, easy raise on the turn I think. If I get 3-bet I'm calling this first one down, then folding it next time I see a slowplay like this one, assuming he showed me a 7.

I don't think the pot is big enough yet to worry about freezing him and locking up our equity given how very weak his likely hand/draw is at this point.

Oh wow thanks guys. I've got such a long way to go in this game- it never even occurred to me that raising the turn could be good.

fwiw raising would be close even if he c/r'd the flop depending on how he plays 9's.
