Mixed Games Poker Forums

Hey guys,
first post ever. Are there any videos for mixed games SNGs/MTTs?

Such as how to approach the blinds and whether its wise to slightly adopt SNG/MTT strategies from NLHE, best approach in the bubble and final table, etc.

Through trial and error, I've found that most of my chip accumulation came from Razz due to inexperienced players and playing cautiously against players who are waiting for the big bet games (such as NLHE & PLO) and steal antes from them in limit games if my doorcards help tell the story. Also I tend to find the split games a gem in SNGS/MTT as I have more experience and tend to play more aggressively since I have a chance of splitting it in case the scoop fails.

I'm slowly digesting most of the mixed vids out there for cash games and was wondering if there weren't any for other formats, could this be a suggestion for a series? Mr. Tall... any comments?

We actually do not have any MTT/SNG mix content. It is such a small sub-set of a small market over all. I do play some Stud trnys but I employ cash-game strategies which work fine in good structures.

I like to play 8 game/7 game tourneys. The structures aren't very good online though and I think they need fixing before I'd consider them profitable. PLO plays waaaay too big compared to other games and is such a death trap compared to the other games. My best advice would be to just steal more liberally in the stud rounds.

I'll definitely collect footage during this wcoop and if some deep run comes up that might be the basis of a cool series!

They are profitable; it's just a bit more crap-shooty than it needs to be.

Soepgroente - That wud be kool if you recorded some of the mixed games you entered at this years WCOOP. Haven't yet watched the 'luck of the draw' series. Will check dem out eventually.

if you are strong in plo and nlhe, you should be ok if you can get by in the other games to be honest. until the blinds get massive.

well if serbie requests it, then I must make some. This WCOOP hopefully I can get some footage.

I'm going to record WCOOP footage for turbo & regular speed 8game, HORSE and the td27. Keep an eye on my blog - I'll post here if I make anything of them.
