hey,
i had at least two spots today in badugi where an opp leads into me and we are either drawing 1 card or he may have gotten pat but there's someone behind me who was drawing more (usually 3 handed). would you consider raising to get the other opponent out if you wanted to continue with the hand (you think ur 3 card is good and that if ur draw comes in it will be better than opp even if he ended up pat and odds are good)? if so, on what draw would you think it's a good play and when would it be kinda too late/not worth it (1st, 2nd, or 3rd draw?)? would the number of opponents behind have to be pretty much just 1? i guess i had the same kind of question for triple-draw.
or is this just altogether bad and why?
thanks in advance.

I can't really comment on the badugi strategy, but in triple draw there are couple common spots where driving out the 3rd party is often beneficial.
1) After the 1st draw 3-ways if everyone draws 2 and you improve to a medium-strong 1 card draw. If the 1st player leads out or if the 1st player checks and the 2nd player leads out and your next to act its pretty common to raise here for both value &/or trying to get the pot heads up in position.
2) After 2nd draw 3-ways, if you have made any type of pat hand you plan on showing down its usually correct (but not always) to raise a lead if you are next to act in an attempt to drive out a 3rd party to prevent him from drawing out on you on 3rd. This spot is a little more sticky & complicated because of so many variables such as the strength of your pat hand, your position, how 2nd draw went, and your opponents. It will take some experience to get the hang off.

If I believe the player behind me is drawing rough I want to get max value with implied odds, so I would not raise them out and get value MW when I become pat. I would obv also raise when go from drawing 2 to pat, so this play can give us some balance.
If it's a close spot, like it goes draw: 2(V1 Random),2(HERO),2(V2 decent player), you improve to a 1 card draw and V1 bets out. I would attempt to fold out V2 and continue the hand HU IP with V1.
I guess my answer is it depends...
