just been doing some coaching with Orange, and im pretty impressed by his style of teaching and train of thought.
Even though im a heads up player and Orange is mainly 6-max i went to him to improve my hand reading skills, which are pretty much key to beating heads up cash games.
i'd recommend this guy to anyone wanting to improve their board reading skills for sure, and at $120 a session the guys worth his fee for sure.

Hey all,

The lack of uniform standards, for poker coaches, makes it difficult to find a coach who has the skill set ( communication, interpersonal, experience, etc)that is best suited to a particular students needs. So, I decided to take my time investigating what DC has available. Fortunately, for us, there are several coaches who have created exposure by participating on the forums, and making videos that help us assess them. DC must go through some of their own assessment of a poker players skill as a a coach, but we ultimately decide how we want to spend our $$$$$$. Hopefully, we have enough info to choose wisely :-)

Thus far, I have had 3 very interesting sessions with Terp. I can not go into great detail about our sessions, but I can provide a few broad strokes that might help you make a wise decision on how to invest in a coaching with Terp.

Firstly, Terp knows about poker. Proof of his poker knowledge is amply provided in the Hand Readers series ( co-produced by Orange), and his latest series SSNL Disease. If you have not seen either series, do yourself a favor and watch, re-watch, both. His analysis goes into great deal, and can only assist us in learning how hands will develop. That level of thinking has helped me avoid the mistake, I consistently made, of only considering my hand strength, and only thinking about hands at each juncture ( flop, turn, river), instead of considering key variables in the big picture.

He is also very patient with my questions, and calmly takes time pointing out flaws in my thinking. I can not emphasize, how important it is to learn what is and is not a bad habit. In that area, and others, he is tremendously helpful.

Terp is also a very honorable person. I discovered that by telling him that if I was at a table with one of his students, to avoid any conflict of interest, I would gladly leave. Considering the shenanigans, and under handedness in the poker community, I found his response very refreshing.

Is Terp worth the $$$$$ ??? My response is a resounding yes. If you have a solid per flop game, or not, but do not understand where you are bleeding money post flop, do your bankroll a favor and invest some coin with Terp. You will thank yourself for asking him to coach you, and then kick yourself for not having contacted him sooner.

Just wanted to say I finished a five week session with threads13 and he was great. Teaching me to step outside my box (3bet more, lines for valueetc.) Talked alot about choosing the right tables and how to play against different styles. Sometimes I cringe when we are reviewing a hand i know i played poorly and he was very professional in his explanations. I do plan on extending my sessions with threads further.

”HU SNG coaching with Saibot”

For a long time I have considered to take some coaching sessions with an experienced pro poker player. I expected to learn a few moves and tricks, but I didn’t expect one session to be so valuable!

Besides beeing an extremely skilled pokerplayer, Saibot was very good to define and discover my current needs and leaks. His way in explaining theory and tansfer it to the pokertables is truely amazing.

More specific I learned how to do equity calculations against LAG-players. Moreover on the thought proces of discovering trends and opponent leaks. Im sure when this is incorporated in my game I will be more conscious about my own leaks.

I can strongly recommend Saibot to other players. The 200$ cost price is a bargain!

Best regards

I just had the plesure of being coached by Saibot.

I've been playing seriously for about 2 years and now I play NL100 5max. I wanted to get saibot to take a look at my play, so i could improve my game.

It startet out really good, Saibot is a really easy kind person to talk and discuss with, and he has a lot of interesting points. But the best things was clearly that he made me think even more about spots and ranges then I normally would do, or in other words, I was getting sluppy and my game was faling. So it was really great to use Saibot as coach and discuss hands and spots.

Further more I got some leakes closed. I needed to turn agression down sometimes and stop up and let them float, and then make check-value-calls instead of valuebetting all villians air out and let him fire it self. I real moneymaker if you ask me. He also fine-tuned my 3betting range quite a bit and telling me to improve my 4b which didnt exist in bluffs, but only for value, and then it would be real easy to play against me.

He also gave me some good videos and books I could see/read that would help these things that I needed to improve.

So I would strongly recommand Saibot as a coach. The money is a good investment, at first I thoung it would make a difference that his maingame was HU SNG and mine was 5max cash, but let me point out, the money was clearly not a waste, but a good investment. Thank you Saibot.

DC higher ups are still deciding how to disseminate the results. You can, however, fill out the survey and just put Anonymous as your name. Currently, the results will just be used to help coaches get better, but my hope is to publish ratings at some point for those looking to hire someone.

Right now we're not sure how we're going to use them exactly - we will definitely be sharing feedback (anonymously and once we collect enough) to help our coaches improve, I imagine down the line we'll share some of it elsewhere as well, assuming we can organize it in a way that will help people choose better.

Any updates on how the results will be utilized?

First (and last) experience of coaching.

My Coach was Soepgroente.
I had my doubts about coaching. $200 is quite a bit of money to me and my bankroll isn't exactly big. Having fallen out of love with online poker and regularly losing money, I decided to take the plunge and shipped $200 about a month ago for a first two hour lesson.

Firstly, I heard nothing from Soepgroente. Then I received an email from him saying he was very busy with the WCOOP and would be busy for the next few weeks, but he would try an fit me in. I replied informing him that I was after lessons asap as I was trying to grind a sign-up bonus and was putting in a lot of hours, but I would fit around his schedule.

Again I heard nothing. And I've still heard nothing. My sign-up bonus has passed, I've yet again lost a bunch of money and I think I'm done for good now with online poker. I've messaged him asking for a refund.

Would not recommend and would not recommend the 'coaching experience' or the website to anyone.

That really doesn't have anything to do with his interaction with a coach.

People getting flamed or getting negative responses to giving a poor review to a coach is detrimental to this thread imo. We should be encouraging people to post negative responses, not discouraging them by criticizing them
