Click here to: Review your Coach!

You guys wonder what goes into hiring a DC coach. We wonder what your experiences with our coaches are like. Many people ask us for recommendations but it's difficult for us to say who would really be that perfect coach and it's difficult for you guys to figure that out without investing the time and the money. No more! Give us feedback, help us help improve our coaches, help us improve the process for other prospective students who were once in your shoes!

Hey, very good idea!

I will start it. I wrote this reference few weeks ago, but nothing change - Tim is still great coach and now I can see, that he is a great guy also.

Hello guys, I just want to share my expreriences with DC coach, Inavacuum.

Few months ago I choosed SootedPower as a coach for 6max NLHE NL100 and we settled up one coaching campaing – 6 sessions. After 4 sessions I cancelled contract for several reasons (the biggest problem was time zone “Europe vs USA”). After that, friend of mine recommended me Tim (Inavacuum), which is from UK.

We are allready running 2nd coaching campaign with Tim (3rd totally) and I have to say, that I am totally, totally satisfied. I can trully feel his interest in my progress, he has great patience with my repeatedly asked (and sometimes dumb) questions and he is allways in a good mood, very calm and friendly. Positive thing is, that his thinking about poker is similar to mine (but many levels higher), which is for me, very important too.

In the beginning I would maybe appreciate more personal aproach, but in meantime everything is OK and I don`t have any issues. He is checking my hand histories via emails (beyond sessions) and sometimes he sends me some quiz or questions about specific situations…

It is great to have someone as Tim, totally stress-free and anti-tilt character, who can give you the right advice … Feel free to PM me & see you around.

I can recommend him as a coach to anyone and I will be 100% sure, that student will be satisfied.

Thank you Tim, I hope you will have enough patience with me for few more years =)

I had coaching with Threads13. It was a natural choice for me as he plays 200nl FR on stars and I was playing 100/200fr on the same site at the time. Watching his videos and reading some posts of his you can clearly see he has a well rounded understanding of the game. Not only did I gain in confidence with my reads/lines but also he gave a solid underlining theory behind his reasoning. Threads is in touch with todays full ring games and I am pretty sure can not be beat for the price, it is a steal imo.

Good idea on this Wink.

I'll fill out the survey, and have been very happy w/jk3a as a coach.

To get feedback from those who maybe have not had a good experience, you might want to clarify:

- Who gets to see the surveys
- How negative feedback is shared (do you talk with the coaches keeping feedback anonymous, share aggregated rankings, show comments verbatim without the student's name, etc.)
- Maybe an option on the form to be contacted by the DC coaching team

Bottom line, if people are unhappy, but not really pissed off or anything, you likely won't get that feedback if they don't think it's anonymous, at least to some extent.

DC higher ups are still deciding how to disseminate the results. You can, however, fill out the survey and just put Anonymous as your name. Currently, the results will just be used to help coaches get better, but my hope is to publish ratings at some point for those looking to hire someone.

Hey guys, what happens with these reviews?

Are they going to be public so people can use them to help choose what coach they like or are they private so that the DC hierarchy can see how their coaches are doing?

Right now we're not sure how we're going to use them exactly - we will definitely be sharing feedback (anonymously and once we collect enough) to help our coaches improve, I imagine down the line we'll share some of it elsewhere as well, assuming we can organize it in a way that will help people choose better.
