I've have recently increase my hourly rate for private coaching and have probably price out some potential students because of this.

Recently, I have received multiple PMs asking about group coaching and decide to do another round of group coaching if there are enough interest.

Group Coaching follows the following format.
1. Theory discussion on topics chosen by the group members
Trouble with some common spots that seems to come up over and over? Get them sorted out in these theory lessons.
Common Theory topics I've discussed with past groups includes
- preflop range construction (3bet/4bet/5bet/call)
- cbet
- blind defense
- Improving and studying
-bet sizing
- adjustments to different players

2. Question and Answer period
Still got questions? No problem ask away.

3. Hand history reviews
Group discussion of each others plays. Get your individual leaks addressed and thought process revolutionized in these discussions.

Materials covered in group coaching will not only be useful for micro or small stakes but they should serve as a solid foundation on which you can expand your game.

I'm currently offer 2 levels of group coaching

1. Journey through micro stakes
- 5 participants per group
- For players who are struggling with limits 50NL and below
- 4 session of 1.5hours in length for total of 6 hours coaching
- $300/person

2. Adventures in small stakes
- 4 participants per group
- For marginal 50NL winning players who wants to become the Apex Predator, player in the process of moving to 100NL or struggling 100NL players
- 4 sessions of 1.5hours in length for total of 6 hours of coaching
- $400/person

We will find a time that works for everyone once I have confirmed full group. Time zone have not being an issue from my experience of running group coaching in the past.

Couple months ago I participated in the Blah234 group coaching. He asked us to write a review but I was too lazy, well here it is. (Laziness, big reason why I am still stuck in SSNL)

First off, I don't think I will ever get what I want in poker coaching I think. I am hoping that my coach will actually care and feel responsibility in student's progress. Fact is, most (not all) coaches don't give a shit. You get the time that you pay for. Which is perfectly reasonable, your motivation is not make friends but to use a poker coach to help you make money and in turn he is only talking to you cause you paid him for his time.

The group coaching session is exactly 90min, no more no less. On the final session, one of the members had audio problems and we waited for him to reboot, that killed 5-7min and there was dead air, painful uncomfortable silence throughout. Usually I would step in and start asking away but I was already doing that in previous weeks and didn't want to be too overbearing.

Nothing was added on in the end but that's OK. It wasn't Nan's fault.

Nan usually has 15-20min of material prepped. That is pretty much the meat of the whole session. Once this is done, there's quite a bit of filler content.

Afterwards we move on to Q&A. Tip for future participants, do your homework and have stuff ready otherwise it gets a little awkward. Last segment is HH review.

In most cases, the answers to your questions you might have are "do whatever is most +EV, it's all about EV" or "just put villain on a range"

Blah knows his stuff, I would probably rank him top 5 in DC's lineup of coaches. If you know how to utilize him properly, he can help develop you into a winning player I believe. That said, it is 100% up to the student. He's not gonna ask you "how's everything?" "Let's find your leaks and help you improve your winrate" he probably does it on 1-1 coaching but group sessions, he just goes through the motions and does it well.

What do I think of the group coaching?
I learned just a little but not as much as I expected. You can get most of information in the training videos.

Was it worth it?
For $100 per session, the part I enjoyed most was the beginning 15-20min theory lecture. Overpriced for 20min but Nan is a winning player and deserves to charge that much, so no complaints.

Would I hire Nan again?
Snap yes! Wouldn't invite him to go for a beer as he doesnt seem to be the most fun guy to hangout with, I think Baluga would be a ton of fun though. I would hire Nan again in heartbeat if I could afford his rates.

Nan's a type of person that doesn't beat around the bush, he might come off as not so polished in some ways. If he could somehow play the game better, (not poker btw) show a bit more politeness, he would make a killing from coaching IMO. Take a guy like wiltontilt, he's articulate, comes off pretty smooth, can pitch poker theory with the best of em. If I just started DC, I would hire wilt for sure if I had to choose between Blah & Wilt. But now I would definitely choose Nan, he knows his stuff and is a winner.

I'd recommend him. 2 thumbs up from me.

Thanks for your review and it will be valuable for future group coaching session that I run. I hope those that read this review have an better idea of what to expect in terms of the amount of attention given to each student for group coaching. It's unreasonable to expect the same level of attention compared to private coaching.
