I've been playing Texas Holdem for a few years now. Know the rules, know a little theory, am quite calculated, mathematical, have discipline and figure that with a little training and an IQ higher than most (don't want to be cocky, just being factual) that I could learn a system to earn a little cash online.
I'm based in Dublin / Belfast at the minute.
I'm up for suggestions but I guess I'm just looking for someone successful in their own game to maybe give me a hand?
I'll warn you now, I don't have a tonne of cash to throw at training but I'm open to suggestions. Maybe even something creative like a share of winnings in a time scale.

My advice is to watch a pile of vids, play a pile of hands and contribute in the forums before getting a coach. You'll improve dramatically just by doing that.

The videos on here should be sufficient for learning how to beat microstakes. A coach will hardly have increased value since all you need to beat microstakes is the basics. If you get a coach, he will tell you the exact same thing the videos tell you. Coaching is more for when you're already a profitable player and know the stuff from the videos, but struggle moving up or something. In your situation coaching is burning money. Most people seem to need coaching somewhere around 100NL, you can likely get there without coaching but you can certainly get through 25NL without coaching.

Baby steps, blah234, and Grindcore's series alone will give you the info to beat the micros.

Forgot to add the first parts of coaching Kristy of course.

I'd stay away from the latter 2 (except for the first episode of the thin red line) if I was starting out.
I'd recommend baby steps, from the ground up and coaching tree / kristy, especially to see where you're really at (a video is only basic if you know all the concepts and apply them (stolen from somewhere in the forums Wink ))

and +1 to the video guide

Agree on watching videos and posting in the forums. As you'll see, coaches reply to questions in the video threads and on occasion in the forums.
Down the line, when you're ready for a coach, I suggest looking at inavacuum.
FYI, though, coaches here get paid, they don't gamble coaching on your winning.
Welcome and GL.

I agree. baby steps to start.... then coaching kristy.
Lots of hands at tiny stakes and work your way up. I started on deuces cracked only six months ago. Watched videos, posted hands, lurked in the forums.
Was breaking even at NL10. Now I smash NL 10 and play up to NL50. nearly tine for a private coach. Smile
