Tekmosuperboll was gracious enough to ask me and a couple other Bad Dudes (1990) to join an elite Bionic Commando (1988) group to inspire a Breakthru (1987) in our knowledge of NLHE. While we all had some Déjà vu (1990) about past group coaching experiences we all swore to go Donkey Kong (1986) on the micros and are Totally Rad (1991) forever!
Okay, enough with the bad NES references but it was fun. In all seriousness, Tom (Tecmo) put together a group of 3 guys for some group coaching and I was lucky enough to be one of them. I say lucky enough because I believe Tom cares about our poker journey and helping each one of us become better poker players. Our sessions have been a mix of video review, HH’s and some theory discussion. Tom really puts you in a spot to have to answer for your actions. Personally that is something that has helped me think deeper about spots. He's not one to just say “well, in this spot I would do this†and move on. He asks questions and makes us think through things. I know one of his favorite video producers is BalugaWhale and its obvious in Tom’s approach to coaching.
I do not know if Tecmo is considering doing more group coaching. I do not know if he plans to work toward becoming a DC coach. What I do know is if he ever emails you and says “hey, I’m putting together a group...†then you would be wise to say yes. I plan to work with Tom as long as he’ll have me and have thoroughly enjoyed the last couple of months working with him and the other guys.

I've been part of the Coaching Group in December and Tecmo has really impressed me with how dedicated he is to our group.
From a professional point of view he is top notch, everything you would expect from the evidence given by his dedication to DC, is carried over into his approach to coaching our Group. Sessions are well planned in advance, always start bang on time and never feel rushed. Neither do they drag on whilst we get distracted by idle chit chat.
From a strategy point of view, I feel that Tecmo has a great understanding of the game, and is teaching me more than I ever thought I wanted to know about ranges and equity.
From that point on it's in my hands, and whilst I would love to show you a beautiful hockey stick graph pointing to the sky, I have to admit, that when we started peeling away some of the sticking plasters covering my postflop leaks, it was impossible to ignore how much work I had to do.
Tecmo didn't let me panic for long though, and has been very patient explaining things to me, and helping me build the right thought process to plug these leaks. And I strongly believe that I'm building a much more solid foundation for advancing through the limits, much stronger than the breakeven Rakeback grinder style I had been surviving off for so long.
As an added Bonus, Tecno and the rest of the members of this Study group are really funny guys, and it's refreshing to take a break and go through the chat archives and read some of the varied subjects we get to talking about.

@All,
I'm thinking of doing another one of these coaching groups. It will consist of 4 students, 4 sessions, and each session will be a video review of one of the students, allowing everyone the chance at a whole session dedicated to them. I'll also ask you to watch the other videos in advance and be prepared with questions. I will ask everyone their thoughts during each session to ensure everyone is interacting and learning. We will meet weekly and during those 4 weeks I'll be available to review hands through email. The price will be $25 per session. Please post here if you are interested.
FYI - mdiesel is already in so there are only 3 spots left.

Ok the 4 slots have been filled. mdiesel, soleztis, itsatrap, and tamarick.
Luke, if 1 of these guys drops out for any reason, I'll contact you asap. I'll likely do another group after this one so I'll keep you in mind there as well.
An email has been sent to the 4 of you.
