Hey Guys...
i recently got into poker again early July.. I decided to hire a coach cause I realized I wasn't beating 100nl. I contacted someone on 2p2 whos post i liked and asked him if he coached. I found out he was a coach on another site not DC. He gave me a discount if I payed up front. Ive had two sessions with him so far and he is very rude, yells at me when I try to explain something always tells me dont raise your voice on me. I am actually a very calm person. He disapears and when we schedule a session a couple of hours before hand he tells me we can still do a session but that he doesnt have a micraphone. So we end up cancelling he wouldnt reschedule with me over skype only said I could only email him to reschedule I did and he hasnt replyed in two days when im in a huge downswing doesnt answer me on skype either. I've had coaches before with really pleasant experiences such as Bogdan. i believe he is a memeber here. I am just really hating life right now because kinda in a downswing and no one to turn too. What are my options here? Should I ask for a refund or just deal with it and get my two more sessions ($200) worth and move on.. Any advice on how to deal with this matter would be apreciated...
i just figured for 100 dollars an hour a poker player would be happy to sit and discuss poker for an hour once a week. Guess not
P.s. Whats the best way to find a good coach? I thought it would be to find someone whos thought process apealled to you, but that has bitten me in the ass!

I didnt intend this post to bash any site or player..
Would rather keep names out of this, just looking for ideas on how to handle this situation and ideas for finding help along my journey in 100nl and up!

You should out him and get a refund. Maybe get the refund first if possible.
I'm not saying out him as a method of punishment, but you do a favour to any prospective students and maybe improve the experience for a few current ones.

I guess you should ask for a refund. What site does he coach for?
yah i would ask for a refund and get someone who is tied to a coaching site. they are more pricey but you can hold their feet to the fire and contact the upper levels if they dont hold up their end of the deal. like say here. If (im just throwing out a name to use as an example i know he would never do this) lets say tubasteve was hired by you here and he was doing this, a simple email to entity, joetall, deathdonkey, krantz, someone, and you will get your coaching: and maybe a partial refund or extra sessions i bet. When someone has bosses and isnt just some dude on 2+2 strat, you get a lot more leverage. What leverage do you have now?
He can just go and trash talk you in 2p2 saying how you were a terrible student and he can walk. dont pay it all up front is my first guess. secondly, deal with a recognized site. IMO you get what you pay for.

He is a member of CR coaching repetoire and offered me that I go through CR so I can have more security. However I felt like he was legit and decided to just deal with him since I am not a member of CR... and to be honest he has helped me with some big things and I am now a small tiny winning player and not a pretty decent loser! However trying to aks for help is very difficult with him
I asked him yesterday if he recieved an Email from me and he didnt reply! A simple yes I got it and I will reply shortly would have been great!
So I just asked again and...

This. And if you don't want to tell now when you still have lessons with him, I think you should afterwards so people doesn't make the same mistake.

your the one that is forking over the money. thats a douche attitude to take. your the customer. he should stick to his agreement. its just unprofessional. email the upperlevels and just warn them that your not pleased.
what a minute, he is doing side stuff when he is a CR coach this could get him in trouble, if he is just dragging his feet i would ask for the refund of the last 2 sessions and say if he doesnt your contacting CR uppers. im sure going off the reservation is not something he should be doing.
Any coaches here have any thoughts?

Speaking as a part owner of a coaching site, an email to a part owner / higher up of the coaching site in question would spur some prompt activity, I should think. I like to think any of our coaches realize they represent DC in their actions, and being a jerk to customers reflects poorly on everyone.

Could some one recommend a good coach for a struggling 100nl player!
Thank you
Depends on how much you are willing to pay.
Hielko is the nuts, and linkwood is a new coach here at DC who has been highly recommended by jk3a and WiltonTilt.
Have a look on the coaching page, pick out some people you like the look of and browse through the coacing forum for reviews, or watch some of their videos if you can.

Check out the coaching tab at the top of this site. You can filter by stakes and game. Then, once you've found a few coaches that interest you, I recommend watching some of their videos. You will get a feel for how they think/teach/play and then you can pick one you like

great point, you want someone who's thinking you seem to get so you can get the most out of it. i mean you can also sort by price, even thou it would be great to get like balugawhale or someone like that, thats like probably your whole BR. I would say tubasteve is a good coach too. heilko, linkwood, majic ninja, i mean its going to be hard to go too wrong
