Hey everyone,
With DC's blessing, I am going to be offering free coaching to any small or mid-stakes players. My longer-term goal is to eventually be an official coach on the DC roster, so I thought that the best way to prove myself would be to try to help out some of the other members, free of charge. Hopefully I can provide some positive additions to some members' games, and they can provide some positive feedback for me in return.
First, a little about me. Before Black Friday, I was a 5/10 and 10/20 reg on Stars with very good results. Actually, I finally ( after A LOT of hard work ) felt like my game was where I wanted it to be, and was seriously considering making the transition to a full-time pro. Obviously that didn't happen. After BF, I started played on Carbon with a much smaller bankroll since the thought of having a lot of money stranded online again made me nauseous. Once the cash out process on Carbon became unacceptably long, I quit playing there. I took about a month or so off, but now I'm probably going to put some money on Bodog and hope for the best. At least they're getting people their money and have a support staff you can actually call and talk to.
Anyway, the point of all of this is that not only am I itching to get back to playing so bad I can barely stand it, but I also have a great desire to really help out others. I received coaching from some great players ( I especially credit jk3a with helping me become the player I am today ), and now I feel that it is my turn to do that for somebody else. I want everyone to know that I am not going to work any less at helping you improve your game just because I'm not charging a fee. Poker has opened up doors in my life and allowed me to do things that I never would have been able to do otherwise, and helping bring that about for someone else would be a terrific feeling.
Unfortunately, due to having a full-time job and family, my free time is somewhat limited. I am only really available later in the evenings ( EST ). To those interested, we can work something out, but just know that I probably won't be able to start anything before 10 PM EST, but I am willing to stay up late. I am not sure how many students I'd be able to work with at any given time, so I'll probably start with a couple and see how that goes.
In terms of sessions, they can be anything you want. If you want to go over hand histories, great. If you want to review a video, great. If you just want to talk about poker and things that you're struggling with in more general terms, great. Once I've spent a little time with you, I should be able to figure out what sorts of things you're struggling with and focus more specifically on those spots.
