I want to record some of my coaching sessions but cant get it to work the way i want...

What i use is LogMeIn to share my desktop and then Skype for audio. I use Camtasia Studio 5 to record the session.

The problem i run into when using Camtasia is that i cant record the audio from the speakers and the mic at the same time. So i have to chose if i want my coach voice or my own and that cinda sucks.

What are you using to record your sessions and getting the audio right???

Hey zwoop-

I actually encourage my students to record my sessions with them as sometimes they do not 100% absorb what we are discussing live - especially if we are playing live hand(s) and/or reviewing sessions with regards to specific hands and/or stats.

What I recommend they use, and I have used that works well is prettymay, which is an add-on to skype which records the two-way audio and should solve your problem.

Post here if you run into any trouble - cheers!

Ok, and then i have to put the audio and video together later? I was hoping for a solution that would take the video and audio all at the same time. How do you sync the audio with the video later on when you have two different streams?

This is a standard editing process in camtasia where you line up the audio track (recorded by the Skype recording tool) with the video (recorded by camtasia - actually their recording program is a separate one called camtasia recorder but usually just gets called camtasia studio). I'd check out their website for some helpful video tutorials if you aren't sure how to do this.

I would suggest using Fraps with the audio turned on, so you get both audio and video recordings... if you have the HD space that is.

You can record both, choose to record the "stereo sound" everything you hear is recorded.

Yes i know this option but noting happens when i use it. I still only get one way audio. I have now used prettymay and it works fine, the only drawback is that i have to edit the sound and video afterwards.

I have been using CallGraph to record my Skype conversations with my coach and it seems to work well.
