Hero bets $14, BTN calls $14

Hero bets $26, BTN calls $26

River: ($99.00) 5 Heart (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $70

???

no special read/or stats about him...

had the feeling either he hit some kind of draw or he has total air in this spot...

If i rethink the hand i think checking here is bad because there are so many runnerdraws out there and he could represent one (even if he didnt hit , another possibility in my eyes is that his pocketpair could turn into a set on turn/river)

what do you think?

I don't understand how he would have air in this spot? That's pretty hugely optimistic.

He has you beat here much of the time IMO, a decent check/fold spot. Without reads, bet 1/2 pot/fold is ok too. People might pay you off here with Tx.

His range is two pair+ to bet this river I think for a standard 200nl donk. The question is whether he's the type to value bet thin - as in will he bet TK here. From your line and his betsizing, I'd say that it's more likely that he has a hand like 56, or sets.

I think this is a pretty standard c/f, or maybe c/c if you feel like this player is bluffy. When the backdoor flush and one liner to a straight gets there, you're not squeezing any value out of his one pair hands with a bet because they are almost always folding. Likewise, when he bets the river he can easily have two pair or better and most players are going to check back worse Tx and mid pairs. It's basically a spot you don't wanna bet because you just won't get called by worse without significant history.

I would make a half pot river bet or so for value here (and fold to a push.) He doesn't really have any hands to turn into bluffs on the river so I'm not worried about making a blocking bet and getting pushed off the best hand, and I think if we bet half pot, since he's a random 1/2 player, he might be bad enough to pay off with a worse T which he has here often. It's thin but I think a good spot.

Otherwise, I'd check/fold. Again, he doesn't really have any hands he can be bluffing with here and he'll almost always check behind a worse T.

This is exactly my thinking. Otherwise you're left with a real tricky decision on the river.

I might check/fold as Quantum said too. It depends on the aggression factor of the player, low aggression I'd check. High aggression, I'd 1/2 pot the river.

You def have to bet the river here. You will be payed off by worse to often to not valuebet.

I bet like $37 on the turn, the pot will be $121 on the river. I would bet $80 on the river and fold to a shove. Yes you folding to a $64 bet in a $340 pot but you're like 95% beat when someone shoves that river when you've played it like that.
