ah yeah yeah, sure - no idea, why I missed this^^
Obv. we have the option of jammign if he does not![]()
hehe allright ![]()
what happened btw? u folded right?
i think he has either air or any non paired ace
would also like 2 know what happened?
Unfortunately, I could not fold this, at least in this moment (maybe his chat-talking has confused me even though it could be often an indicator of having him a real strong hand...).
So yeah, i have called with the plan of course call as well the river (as said, imo in this spot calling turn to fold the river is burning money b/c once he has taken this line I assume that i will face with a riverjam with 95%+).
He had AA, what is not a big surprise at all![]()
But I would have posted this thread as well if he would have for instance AK or if i would have folded b/c i was just interested how other REGs reacts in such an uncommon spot.
thx for thoughts on that one, really interesting spot prologion
hoping to see a "FML" thread again soon lol ![]()
Why is this not a slam dunk fold if you've decided he's a passive fish on a heater?

hehe, will come up for sure, anytime![]()

the thing that he is on a heater is not relevant -> Variance has no memory...
The thing that he seems to be passive is of course relevant and could mean for sure that folding here would have been the right ply to take.
In game it was at least for me anyways pretty hard to fold directly -> I mean, I have a board in a rr pot vs a fish who can be in some % unpredictable and wake up here with worse hands....
But yeah,
I think that this is a spot where at least imo nobody can rly blame you for folding...
9 out of 10 ppl will call. dont mind. its not often that you flop a full and he flops quads. especially in button/blindwars.
btw i would like to see a "why do ppl talk to you while being in a hand" thread ![]()
hehe, will come up for sure, anytime

Your passive villain being on a heater is very relevant, it means he's not spazz bluffing b/c he's frustrated or being a spewtard. He's doing fine, making money and loving poker, he's just made quads and is drooling at his keybd bc someone's about to pay him off. He's also not there thinking about how he can use his passive/run good image to min RR bluff you off this hand. And no I don't think you beat his value range even if he's playing ak badly.
@eatyafish
9 out of 10 people are not winning as much money as they can be if they just chalk this up to a cooler

Ah ok, your thoughts on this are going in this direction - yeah, that makes of course sense.

Agree, I mean this is imo at least not a "nobrainer-cooler", but a uncommon spot worth to talk about it.
The good news are, even when my calldown was a mistake here and I would had to fold on the turn, the spot will come up soooo super rarely, that it sgould not have a too high impact on my WR.
Haha the chat makes it an easy fold. Without the chat I'd probably call and call all rivers except K/Q.
hehe, I see - all right^^
This reminds me of a hand I played a long time ago at 2/4. Bit of a backstory... There was a huge fish at the table, 80 vpip or something and total station and spewtard postflop, 0% f3b, etc. There was also a recreational player that kind of had a clue what he was doing with reg-like stats. He was 3betting 8% or so. I had been stealing his blinds and isolating the fish all session long and he was always snapfolding or snapcalling pre like he didn't care much. We played a hand where I backdoored something and he chat-tilted after which he started playing back a bit postflop. I ran a huge re-bluff one hand and showed trying to tilt him even more so I could easily stack him later.
So the hand... I raised with AK from late position isolating the fish, but this time he paused and typed "you raise a lot, I'm gonna reraise you!" and then he made a 3b. The fish coldcalled with ATC. I laughed and... folded! 56x flop, they get it in, 56o vs AA ![]()
lol ![]()
that talking thing is written in like every 2nd poker book as far as i remember ^^
