Hi!

I feel like i misplayed this hand so I would like some input since I am still not sure how to play it properly.

Villain is aggro 23/19 w AggFreq at 39% on flop, 30% on turn and 19% on river. He is very active preflop and in a SB-BTN situation he earlier 5betbluffshoved 57s vs me and got caught. He has not attacked my utg opens though. He flats the btn 10%.

He views me as 29/23/38% reg.

I dont really think we have any dynamic, at least not postflop.

BTW I forgot to reload last hand hence my weird stacksize.

SB ($673)
BB ($521)
Hero ($466)
CO ($732)
BTN ($492)

Dealt to Hero JSpade KDiamond

Hero raises to $17.50, fold, BTN calls $17.50, fold, fold

FLOP ($42.50) 5Diamond QDiamond JDiamond

Hero bets $27, BTN raises to $70, Hero calls $43

TURN ($182) 5Diamond QDiamond JDiamond 3Spade

Hero checks, BTN bets $130, Hero calls $130

RIVER ($442) 5Diamond QDiamond JDiamond 3Spade 9Diamond

Hero checks, BTN bets $275 (AI), Hero ?

I think I lean towards folding on the flop now but would like to hear DC's opinion.

i think if i'm gonna fold at any point in this hand, it's gonna be on the turn

But would you still prefer calling down to folding?

I think his river shove was a little suspicious since he is only repping the nutflush I think, I believe he is folding Td8d preflop, and if his calling range is only 10% it should be like ADiamondTDiamond and maybe only that hand!

So I made a really bad laydown on the river I guess Frown

i think that turn schould be a fold, sure he could have Ax od diamonds but i would count on him raiseing those ip like this, so id say he either got 2p sets or flushes. people tend to play pretty straightforward on theese flops imo.

Turn is a fold or jam depending on the villan. River is a snap call.

Calling turn is terrible I think. You have bad pot odds and implied odds to hit your flush

Snap it off with those odds.

I like a flop check. Think you can induce lots of random bluffs on these boards.

Hi walth, nice to see you here too.

I dont like checking here bc it is so hard to balance and he is the type of guy capable of barreling with a wide range. But it is a possibility sure

Sorry for not recognizing you, but your nickname doesn't ring any bells. From where do we know each other? Are you Danish as well?

Sure its hard to balance, but I just think betting puts us in a lot of tougher spots on later streets. Bc when you bet the flop and check-call the turn, your hand is face up as being non nutted, so he can pretty much take you off it by betting turn+river. Also, when checking I dont mind calling at least 2 streets, and if he's capable of barrelling a wide range that should make it good for us to be checkcalling.
If I bet the flop, I think I prefer betting a blank turn as well just to maintain the iniative and to protect my whole range. He's gonna fold a lot of hands on the turn that would have otherwise taken you off your hand on later streets. He might also fold a naked queen on some occasions.
