or didn't understand your thought process on the flop and turn - could you elaborate what's up that "hearts" part? ty

check-calling with hearts is a really marginal way to play the hand. if I have a combo draw with the hearts, then obviously I want more money going in on the flop, or at the very least a way of making him fold, which check-calling obviously cannot do. If I don't have a combo draw then it's likely either the nut flush draw or a very weak one. with the NFD, I could see an argument for c/c, but with something like 76hh I don't want to c/c for obvious reasons. overall with any draw, I'd much rather bet and see if I have some fold equity.

Most players will instinctively c-bet the flop with hearts, so if I'm the player on the button and I bet the flop, I have no reason to slow down on a turn heart. My read is that I'll almost never see a flush, and almost always see a 1 pair hand. so going back to my position with K9, you can see why it's such a bad situation for me, being out of position with my opponent having a tailor-made 3-barreling set-up. so against myself, I'd call down or fold the turn. but against a typical 1/2 player who doesn't have a high AF and bet%, I think he'll check the river often enough that I can call the turn with my pair and OESD if he bets again.

This has been a really amazing series. I have studied the notes, spreadsheet, videos several times and will continue to revise every now and then. I took a week off from playing and just studied and studied this material. Now on 3rd day I have played so far 4,400 hands, squeezing, isolating, stealing more, trying not to flow that preflop aggression too much to postflop (spew). So far ptbb/100 is 23. And I know it is not sustainable but it's a good start and I know without DC and this series I wouldnt have made it. I think I am starting to do something right, little by little.

Thank you Josh, I look forward to any new stuff from you.

Josh,

Around 22 minutes in you fold QTs in the SB to the CO raise saying you would call in the BB. I'm pretty sure this isn't your only reasoning, but you said it was because the BB was a possible squeezer so you couldn't call. I doubt that player 3-bets much more than like 10-15% of the time here, so the only other reason I can think of not to call is just that you're getting a slightly worse price (even though you're still putting in less than like 3% of the stacks). I suppose you might also get into a 3-way pot where you have bad absolute AND relative position, but you'll also be multiway where QTs fares pretty well, so it seems like the good might outweigh the bad to me in this situation.

Am I missing something, or is that possible squeeze still significant enough to make this a fold?

One more thought, the hand where you had AK on the K97 two-tone flop, you said calling villains bet in position looked strong. Isn't calling how villain would expect us to play TT-QQ in this spot?

So in the last hand we are c/c'ing and not betting? I'm sorry but it was a little unclear to me.
