Is a 31/12 ever donk/folding? Maybe it's stakes related, but I don't see it very often. Even some of his air if the raise is modest (like 90ish here) will take one off.

There was a FTP sound in the background which was a bit distracting.
I am not sure if you adressed this in the video. Just for notice and improvement for the next video.

At the 27:00 mark why did you 3 bet so big on the shallow table with QQ. Wouldn't 20-24 be better? Just interested in logic behind it.

Thanks,

generally wouldn't go smaller than 3x even with 40bb, but I def think smaller is good and 24 could be optimal.

"Run it twice" increases the rake, yes? It seems odd to start out making a -EV decision before you even get your cards.

def happy to take a tiny hit in increased rake after rakeback to reduce variance

asking why a professional poker player might want to reduce variance?

I think it's worth it to reduce the variance since poker is my income and it's nice to have smaller swings.

Haha, sorry. I was totally housed when I logged on last night. Kind of a dumb question.

I guess what I'm really wondering is, do many professional players also make decisions in their play that they know to be slightly -EV in order to reduce variance?
