villain in hand is some russian dude runniing 25/21 over ~1k hands. i have note that he three bet smallish w/ 77 otb vs a co open. he seems reggish aggro. original pf raiser is v. aggro reggish player which i think is important for later in the hand.

pf i squeeze sometimes w/ KQo cuz oop sux and russian is rarely if ever flatting w/ real strong hands but yesterday i shipped 79s over pf raisers cold fourbet (and won) after three betting otb and he called with TT so I'm sure he remembers i'm capable of being active and flatting w/ KQo seems a little better than risking getting 4b.

on the flop russian leads which i htink is strange w/ any real strong hands because pfraiser is gonna cbet this board a lot. maybe he figures leading out is stronger because he'll get floated or something but when he c/r's say a set, it looks like he easily can have a draw so c/r should get played back a decent enough amount to curb that thought of leading w/ strong hands somewhat.

anyways i call w/ KQ pf raiser tanks a bit and folds. now villain checks the turn. i don't see why he wouldn't want to keep the lead with anything he has... draws or hands with greater equity than that so i bet for value. he then raaaiiissses and i'm like w-t-f.

i'm guessing he thinks i'm weak when i just flat his lead rather than raising right there, but raise from my position looks really really strong so i have incentive to just flat a pretty wide range with decent position. if he thinks i'm weak then he can c/r some draws of his own and figure to have some folding equity but if i have a draw i don't have to bet i can check sometimes w/e so his assumption that i'm betting everytime when checked to would be a poor one. his c/r size is strange too it's only 97 more to me to win 291 so basically pricing anything i have with 25% or > equity in. So basically he's just inflating the size of the pot. why would he do that?? or do you think it's more likely he doesn't know what he's doing, and checked to try to see a free card with a draw then decided to raise small to inflate the pot figuring he's calling it off anyways. hmmm that some sense in a backhanded sort of way.

Woah, confusing move right there. I guess we just gotta fold here, and wait for a better spot. We didn't squeeze so we avoid situations like this, so gotta maintain the discipline and get away from it.

Weird spot.

I think you should squeeze preflop. It's not like KQo is a multiway monster that it really hurts to get 4bet preflop. And if you think he might be trapping strong hands here because he perceives you as aggro it's even better since you get out of a reverse implied odds situation for cheap. And when people don't give your squeeze credit and call KQo is a really nice hand to have.

I wouldn't give his betsizing too much thought, he probably thinks that making it +/- 3x is good without thinking about pot odds / equity and stuff.

Really not sure what to think about his range here. But when regs take a really weird line I think that's quite frequently some monster hand that's trying to get fancy. Maybe he has a combodraw or something, but those hands have decent equity and against the value part of his range you are probably drawing dead.

seems like a pretty easy fold to me.. 33, 44, 56, 77 are all reasonably in his range here, and if he is semibluffing with a FD/combo draw you dont have any FE on a shove. Against this sort of range which I think will have little air you are best served bet folding the turn.

If the positions were different I like squeezing but as they are your squeeze is going to get very little respect and will get 4b often. I'd shrug and muck on the turn
