vid was nice, i think Vanessa was revering to this article about QJ, although the hand in this article by Samoleus was the suited type, maybe it helps!

i have a problem with ipod dl, same as ep1 of this series. when i view on my ipod (have tried both my classic and touch) the outer left and right sides of the video are cut off. basically i can only see the middle of the screen.

i haven't had any other issues with the other ipod compatible files of late, just this one. (ie. remix series no issues)

Does anyone know where else that "1 or 3" situation is discussed? Vanessa talked about a previous video where they discussed boards where you can fire only 1 or 3 barrels. Anyone know?

Also btw I just want to point out that the two audio streams (mine and Hielko's) were saved separately, and I think they wound up overlapping by a second or two. I didn't just interrupt him and cut him off all the time Smile

Anyway Hielko was a pleasure to work with. I love it when students challenge me rather than accepting everything I say, because it definitely makes for much better discussion.

A brilliant performance from Vanessa here.

And Hielko couldn't be a more perfect foil. He's good enough that he can keep up with the coaches, and entertaining to listen to.

Great job.

Was the 3betting thread on 2+2 you mentioned the Chaostracize one? You said you prefer 3betting T9s etc, so I take it you disagree with Baluga Whale's stance?

Has anyone done the math at the KQ-shove? From what I've gotten it's +EV if he has a 3bet-range of 22%. I don't really think villains squeezing-range is that wide here, but I would guess that it's around 15% or something, and then it's still +EV. From my calculations we need him to fold around 54% of the time, but my math may very well be off.

I've done some math and IF he really 3bet +/- 22% here and IF he cbets air 100% it's for sure +ev. But if he 3bets less or checks air a decent amount it's very easy to go from +ev to -ev.

Yeah, seems like it's kind of what I found out (even though it has to go down quite a lot before it starts being -ev). Just was surprised about the numbers Vanessa mentioned in the situation.

Anyways, great video and series!

I thought the KQ shove was really interesting. As I was watching it I thought "Okay I guess he's going to float here..." then he jammed and at first I was like WTF that's crazy but if you actually look at the math I don't think it's so bad. The sample size of the villain isn't huge, but it definitely seems big enough to be somewhat worthy and consider his monkey like 3-bet stats. That board is perfect for a C-bet and he's prolly continuing that flop like 99% of the time.

I think if you look at the EV it's probably close to neutral EV if he does indeed have aggressive 3-bet/C-bet stats, but what I do like is the future implied odds with this move. Next time you open preflop he's going to be a little less likely to go crazy with his 3-betting against you because he knows you're capable of doing the unexpected. Anytime you can perhaps get a guy to alter his game just because you took a creative line in a previous hand is definitely +EV in my books.

Love the analysis by Vanessa on the AT hand where Hielko 3-bet from the SB, bet flop for value, checked turn and bet river. I find myself on those kind of spots very often and it's nice to get a better idea on how to play that kind of situation. This one was probably my favourite video of the series, along with the Krantz sweat session.

Like how Omakasse mixed up the format a bit here. People like different formats I guess, but I really appreciate Vanessa taking the time to work through the hands and select the ones that have a broader theme instead of just four-table action.

Love the dynamic here: if Hielko and Flexi don’t do a series I seriously have to consider cancelling my membership Wink – should be a given!!
