First of all, what is a good winrate from SB and BB? A rough estimate?

I don't like my blinds statistics. I'm playing NL400 and my winrate in SB is -36.54bb/100 and in BB its -13.12bb/100. They are the only positions where I'm losing money. So I'm guessing that I've some big flaws in my blind play. But I don't really know what they are (obv). So Im wondering if you guys see something that is or can be a leak? If you want to see some more stats, just holla at me Wink

My first thought is that I'm playing too many hands from SB and prolly not playing them good neither...

My stats:

You are supposed to lose money in the blinds, since you are forced to put money in blind.

I don't know if your stats are more or less than is typical for people to lose.

meh, if you were to fold every SB and BB your winrates for them would be -50bb/100 and -100bb/100 respectively, as long as they're above those numbers I wouldn't worry about it a lot. if you calculate the difference you're doing pretty well I think, it's pretty hard to turn a profit from the blinds. your SB winrate seems pretty low though, but I don't know what the typical winrates in the blinds would be

i dont know what a solid loss-rate would be, but i have a feeling that tightening up from the sb wouldn't hurt you.

Your winrate for BB is good.
This is above a solid winrate for that position (anything above -35b/100 is good and you really should be aiming for -20b/100 so -13bb/100 is good)

As for the small blind.
This should be a lot less. I would aim to get around -25b/100 (with intentions of getting it around -15bb/100)
Your stats indicate you are too loose out of the small blind (your figures should be around more like your big blind ones)

No where in particular.
I have played a ton of hands and looked at many peoples winrates and the average player should be trying to achieve that.

Achieving higher is also posible. I know really good players who are around around -5bb/100 to -10bb/100 in small blind and biig blind respectively.

But I just wanted to give OP an idea as to what he should be aiming for and not for him to think -50bb/100 and -100bb/100 in SB and BB is a solid winrate.

Thank you for this information. As I am new to holdem manager and playing poker seriously since the beginning of the year. After looking at my bb/100 stats from the small blind and big blind for the first time, I about had a heart attack. My sample of hands is not nearly large enough for anything to matter at this point, however, they range from -7bb/100 to -57bb/100 in the sb, and -15bb/100 to -59bb/100 in the big blind at various stakes.

Thanks for putting my mind to rest. I'll still go through the entire hand history to see where I can tighten up or loosen up to improve my current numbers.

What is a decent overall winrate at 400 NL these days?

I remember that 8-10 BB/100 (HeM) was the goal to aim for some years ago but I find that the game is a lot tougher now.

Does anyone run 8-10 BB over a large sample?

You're godly if you can have win rate of 8-10BB/100 in midstakes these days.

So a player in the top half of the regs. at a given site should be happy with a bb/100 of something like 4-5?

I am sorry about being so explicit about this. It's just that it's kind of hard mentally - and kind of stupid - to pursue a winrate that is almost impossible to achieve.

Furthermore when your BB/100 drops as it has for me I feel that I am loosing edge to other players. This may be true but it's more comforting if we all loose edge to each another. Did that make any sense?

So what are the best ways for improving your win-rate to get it down to this average?
