Another great vid Josh, good dense discussion.
Sthief09 brings us his first ghost video. He reviews his play of 4 tables at $1/2 NLHE while discussing his basic strategies and his more analytical approach to opponent ranges.
Ghost the best of DeucesCracked in the shorthanded games they play in today.

hey guys, I noticed a couple of things while editing and wanted to mention them.
1. 19:40 T3, I squeeze in the BB with 86o. the opener was taggy so opening a wide enough range, the caller was on the loose side, and I was deep and in position with the fishy player in the SB. I expect him to have something like 75% of all hands in that spot, so even a loose player will fold to the 3-bet a lot (though by the end of the video, I would no longer be willing to do it because he donks so many flops). I made it a little more than pot to put the TAGs in more of an allin-or-fold situation and just generally increase my changes of taking it down.
2. 57:00 T2(?), I think I misinterpreted his stats. he does 3-bet a lot of UTG opens, but looking at his VP$IP and 3-bet% across all positions, it seems like he just has no understanding of position. he 3-bets a lot of UTG raises because he likely doesn't understand that UTG raises are strong, but he probably doesn't loosen up when he has the button. he likely has the same 3-bet range MP vs UTG that he has BTN vs CO. I think calling preflop would've been a better play, even though it puts me in a tough spot postflop.
These two last vids of WoT and sthief09 convinced me: Ghost is the immortal nuts. More please!
Folding 75s in CO being 150 deep with a fish? Unthinkable.
Ye, in that AA on xxTA hand. You say you put him on a T. How much do you think you have to bet on the turn to get him to fold JT?
hi sthief good video

thx

regarding the 75s, let's take a situation where it's folded to you in the CO with 3 unknowns behind you. 75s is marginally playable here. I'm raising it, but if I decide to tighten up, it's probably one of the first hands I'll start to fold. now think about the spot we're actually in. 2 TAG blinds iirc, and a fishy, but somewhat aggro button. how is this a positive spot? if the fish calls, I'm oop and it's not a great spot. maybe not terrible if it's HU, but he's loose so I should be just c/f on a lot of flops. when I do flop big, his range is loose so there's not a good chance he has much of anything at that point, and it's not often I'm able to stack him, or even get 100bb from him. if the BTN folds preflop, then I'm facing the blinds, either of whom can 3-bet me. so I see this as worse of a situation than with 3 unknowns behind me, and since it's marginal to begin with, I like a fold. with a TAG button and a bad player in the blinds, I'd raise it all day. when the fish has position on you, it negates a lot of the benefits of being deeper.
about the AA hand, at the time I thought he'd fold for anything over 2/3 pot. since I figured he was drawing dead, I thought it was best to ensure that he'd call with Tx, and bet only half pot. if I had a read on him at the time that he is especially aggro and bad, I probably would've bet something like 3/4 pot.
You are way overthinking the situation. You have a good hand in LP and initiative with great postflop equity and a lot of straight and flush draws against a fishy opponent a little deep. Your isolating and / or taking blinds. If you get 3bet, so be it. You cross this bridge when you come to it.
nice video, looking forward to the 400NL one.
wasnt too sure why u didnt want him to bluff raise on the 4KQss, at the end, when you are snapping it anyway..
but liked the discussion about the 2.5x BTN raise a lot.
with the TT hand facing BTN 3bet, i would just fold TT/JJ there unless the guy was becoming a problem/had higher 3bet stat.. is that too weak?

well my issue with the AJ bet is that the hands he'll raise me with are ones like 4x, maybe like 77. betting small may induce a raise from AT, but if he has spades or JT he is likely never folding anyway, so there aren't a lot of hands I really want to induce a bluffraise from. mainly just AT, maybe J9, but more often it's 54 or 77, which might fold if I overbet. hope that makes sense.
if you're comfortable playing in 3-bet pots, I think you can easily call JJ, and likely TT too, in that hand. 6% is a reasonably wide range, and TT/JJ are in very good shape against it, even taking into account that you're OOP. I'd usually fold 99 and never fold JJ, so TT is somewhat in the middle, but closer to JJ imo.
yer that makes a lot of sense, ty ![]()
