Full Tilt Poker $2/$4 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players -
BB: $410.00
UTG: $466.00
MP: $480.40
CO: $400.00
BTN: $400.00
Hero (SB): $400.00

Pre Flop: ($6.00) Hero is SB with J Diamond A Club
2 folds, CO raises to $10, 1 fold, Hero calls $8, 1 fold

Flop: ($24.00) T Club A Heart 3 Club (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $12, Hero calls $12

Turn: ($48.00) J Spade (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $33, Hero requests TIME, Hero raises to $102, CO raises to $240, Hero raises to $378 all in, CO calls $138 all in

Villain is 28/23 after decent sample, high fold to 3bet in CO (70%).

The dude is aggro, and when he 3bets the turn, it looks grim.
I guess the question is, can I fold there, or shouldn't I be c/r'ing the turn if don't wanna get it in? Especially since I must look like a nit to him with my tightass stats so far that session.

If you know he is able to make them tough lay downs to you. Then it is probably a fold. But with that short a history. And NL400. I think he will top pair + gut shot enough times to stack off with AQ AK. But it does look grim, because there are many hands that beats you AA JJ TT KQ and AJ chops. Probably he would pot control AK AQ. Tough spot. But you can also be against AT or a combo draw.

Ok so I'm gonna start posting in this forum, its about time.

I'm assuming this guy has a pretty wide CO steal stat, like 30%. I think there is plenty of draws he could still be barreling, as well as worse value hands. Given that you don't really know what to do when he 3bets (even playing the river when he calls would be tough), I think there is a lot more ev in just flatting.

Against an agro opponent that are folding a ton against 3B I wouldn't mind 3B this pre-flop to keep it simple/easy OOP. (You will be put into a spot where you will often need to stack off with TP or at least put a big chunk into the middle with a mediocre holding, I don't like guessing games OOP)

Unless I knew that he were very barrel happy I would try to take back the initiative when this is the kind of board where most players will pot control and take free cards if they get action. (Would either raise the flop which I often do on these kind of board or be very apt to lead the turn when it should get value from AX T+R, will still get tricky if you don't know what you want to do against a raise = I would have definitely 3B it pre-flop Wink

What is his 2nd barrel range here?
What part of that will you get value from if you c/r?

Also how would you have played a FD in this spot? What does your c/r range on the turn consist off?

What are you trying to accomplish by raising the turn?

There are certainly hands he won't fold to a raise: JT (6), AT(6), A3s(2), some flushdraws, AK/AQ perhaps, but a lot of hands that have me crushed like KQ(16), AA(1),TT(3),33(3).
So yes, the raise is absolutely questionable.

But when he doesn't shove the turn, I'm only looking at the range that crushes me.

Moreover, if I just c/c again, the river will go checkcheck if I have the best hand, and even a set might not bet when the river comes a club or K/Q.

So yeah, I don't like the turn raise anymore, and I think I can actually fold to his 3bet on turn because it just looks so utterly strong.

And if I c/c the turn, c/f the river becomes tough, because he could still be barreling light for value and bluffing some hands, so I'd probably c/c there without any more specific reads.

Then again, if I c/c 3 streets with top 2, I'd feel like a weakling and probably stop the session and go to bed or something...

3betting preflop is an option, but AJ would be close to the top of my calling range, and it doesn't fare well when my 3bet is called. Since he folds so much I'd rather 3bet other hands. The question is then: is AJo a good enough hand to play OOP vs an aggro CO? Probably not if you play like this it isn't...

Whats your reason for calling preflop and calling the flop?

Id need more of a read to take a passive line (which you took) - expecting him to barrel you? than people trying to calldown.
