Let's talk about BldSwtTrs. Of course we have much love for the nosebleed players of right now. But one of my favourite players of all time is BldSwtTrs. BldSwtTrs crushed so goddamned hard that they once constructed a 2+2 thread basically titled "Please Help Me Beat BldSwtTrs." IT probably should have been titled, "Help me lose less against BldSwtTrs." This guy was a PartyPoker terrorist the likes of which will probably never be seen again. He blew the minds of regulars and basically, having him at your table was absolutely miserable.

The thing about BldSwtTrs is that he was a bit of an enigma. A lot of people had misconceptions of his style. People thought he was the laggiest and most insane player ever. According to FWF in one 2+2 post, he wasn't that loose pre flop, but his postflop aggression factor was unheard of. When people asked about him on twoplustwo, they received asinine responses and got nowhere. He never posted strategy except for four hands against lolotrickedu. He even boggled the minds of 2+2 posters. KaneKungFu once said he poured over a bunch of his hand histories and came to the conclusion, "I think I finally figured out what he's doing all this time, and it's given me some great ideas to implement in to my full ring game." The best post re: Bld was a 2+2 thread specifically started to help frustrated regulars beat him, here is how it went:

This guy is real annoying to play against, (because he is better or luckier or more agressive than me or all 3). Everytime I raise preflop, he reraises, (because he know I raise light a lot and also will not back good but not great hands for my stack occasionally to stop that [censored]) If I check call him, he will often fire 3 bullets, (because he reads hands better and knows he can push me off marginal hands and also because I raise too early with monsters and let him get away cheap.) If I bluff raise him with nothing, he will call or reraise me with nothing, (because I don't have the stones to push with a bluff and instead leave him room to play back with a bluff.) IE: he calls a checkraise on 942 with KJ, (because he reads me for air and knows he likely has outs and can take it away from me on the next street anyway.) Discuss how to beat this guy without playing for your stack, (because I don't want that to be the only way possible because I am both underrolled for this stakes and also not disciplined enough to just play fewer hands against him and then back my reads with my stack.)

So, let's talk about BldSwtTrs. Who was he, besides a two ton man machine who bathed in motor oil, ate nails, and spit them out as bullets? What did his style really look like? How does he compare to NL players today?

He used to be a coach here. He played on Party probably from 2004-2006 (UIGEA). Afterwards he coached through DC for awhile and his hourly rate was like 10,000/hr or something ridiculous for coaching. I know Krantz went to Vegas with him after but I think he might have retired from poker. I don't know of any of his screennames on FullTilt or Stars, but it would not surprise me at all to learn that he crushed on those sites as well.

In the beginning I thought his name was bloody sweaters and he was a British dude that either hated wearing sweaters or people watching him when playing.

He used to play under twin-caracas since back in early-mid 2000's when 10/20 was the highest game stars offered for NLHE... wish something like PTR was available then to see his graph and players like h@llinggol and "The Liar" (who is from baltimore)

Bld was a legend. He, lolotrickedu, samoleus and bbuddy were called the '4 dragons' in the early days of Party 10/20 and 25/50--they destroyed the games. Bld played hyper aggro before anyone had really encountered that playing style, and was able to play that way on tons of tables. He didn't use a HUD. I think he moved out of the US post UIGEA and continued to quietly crush. As online pros got better the gap closed between him and everyone else. But for awhile, he was sick and feared and you prayed to your avatar that you'd avoid his fury. Not sure if he still plays poker.
