what is a good amount of time to stay at a table and is there merit to setting a time limit to your session? good video

This is very player dependant. Experiment to find out what works for you. One to 1.5 hours works best for me if the table stays good for that long. I seem to get robotic after that. I try to stay observant. I try to notice and leave a table if it gets swarmed with regs, if the VPIP drops below 20 and if I can't find at least one high VPIP player at the table that I have position on. Usually I'll wait a couple of orbits before leaving in case it becomes good again.
I thought this video had a very good feel to it.
Both of you had a good dynamic going.
Quad - How do you find Nolan's coaching style?
Nolan - what do you do to minimise tilt within your own game?
"I didnt even get quads this session"
"thats a joke"
"it is"
Hilarious.
Haha one of the most enjoyable videos to watch in a long time. Love the sarcasm, just getting into fullring to so pretty good content to. Looking forward to another one.
Quad - How do you find Nolan's coaching style?
Sean (Nolan) is an instinctive poker genius born of years of very hard work!
I find Sean's instinctive style complements my tendency to be too mathematical. Sean is very good at making me more confident at trusting my reads whether to fold/bluff/raise. Sean is also inspiring because it is very clear that he works very hard and that if I want success I need to work very hard, too. The effect on my game is interesting.
In some spots now I am far tighter than I used to be. In other spots I am far more aggressive than I used to be. In general I am far more instinctive. My game is much more adaptable.
As regards discipline I now try to set regular targets for how many hours/hands to play each day. These are not things Sean has talked about so much as things I see him doing.
make some more nl100-200 vids pls

I quit when I feel like I'm tilting.
Really, that's the secret.
Edit: The more I play, the harder it is to get tilted. I think when you play enough volume this transcends through stakes you're rolled for. I.E. there are days where I can be "tilted" losing 4bi at 2/4, and days where I can lose 8bi at 5/10 and not feel effected. I think experience and repetition heightens your comfort level with the game which in turn makes tilt difficult to achieve.
You're probably better off asking Tommy Angelo though. Guy is pretty zen.

lol I like this.
Digger- minimizing tilt is a matter of behavior. You know you shouldn't get mad when you lose with AA but you still do. You know you shouldn't eat all that cake but you still do. You know you shouldn't speed but you still do. If you some how find positive reinforcer to present to your self when you didnt tilt a session and a negative one when you did you could train yourself not to tilt. "lol college course" Well any way try it out and let me know how it works. ![]()
Quad- I expect to see you playing 50 nl soon
nice vid
Really liked the discussion on "finessing" the pot. Often my default option is "i have a set, get as much money in the pot asap" then i wonder why i dont get paid off
Never heard of pot odds being referred to as "alot - 1" nice
Loved the video guys thank you.
I really liked the discussion on the difference between being a poker player and and a poker fan while at the table. Also on the things expressed about taking the "Level" your at seriously or your "doomed". I have found that now that I take my 5NL Level serious and take the players serious. Once I started looking at from the view of poker player and not the "The Kid in the sand pit", I started to make progress in a positive way. I hope people hear and understand just how important, what was said light heartedly there, actualy is!!

Villain is a loose passive. Do you really want to say that loose/passive players bluff PSB with missed draws? I think when he bets he has the best hand here most of the time. He check back 1pair hands and his missed draws most of the time. If he bets the river he must have 2pair+ or a missed draw. If he bets PSB we've to have the best hand 50%+. Do you think that 50% or more of his river betting range are bluffs?
