oy... what's with the horrible ratings? Is it the general hate for short-stacking? It's really NOT short-stacking. He's playing a medium stack. It's a good exercise in dealing with different stack-to-pot ratios. He does not leave when he builds up a stack.
I'd truly love to hear the reasoning behind these ratings. For 7 people to review it by now, I wonder if people are just spiteful because it's listed as short-stacking. It's something I think people could benefit from trying out, especially if you want to take a shot at higher stakes.
If people really hate the video, I can have it swapped out for another. I happened to find it interesting though. But please, I need to hear some feedback for the horrible ratings. I feel sick about it and out of respect I'd really appreciate some written feedback. As I said, if that many people actually watched the video and hated it, I'll have it swapped out ASAP.
what i'd like to see is people downvoting actually leaving a reason why.
How can any video be improved if you don't say why you hate it!
I've only watched like 10 mins so far and I now realize it's not really shortstacking. I haven't rated it yet since I haven't finished it, but I think the poor ratings are probably because of 2 things.
1. People's hatred for anything resembling shortstacking.
2. Being unable to apply the video to their own game because they always sit w/ 100bbs+.
That's just a guess though. And I realize it's not like they can't apply the things in the video to their own game, but I'm just telling you what perceptions may be.
Edit: Could also be people's natural inclination to favor allearth + allfire > allwind.
dont understand the bad ratings. good video, just from a different point of view.
people arent open minded enough I guess.

Yeah I hadn't really thought of this. I do think it's useful in playing against the real short-stackers on the big sites. A lot of his tactics are ones you can use against the short-stackers.
The hope was also that people would try this out. Allwind and I both have a feeling that this type of strategy will be popular down the road as games get tougher. If a fish is sitting with 40bb, and the rest of the table is filled with tough regulars, then the optimal buyin is 40bb. People buyin for 100bb, probably because (1) that's what almost everyone else does and if you don't you're a "short-stacker", and (2) everyone thinks they have an edge over everyone else.

TT on 43J.
You said you didn't want to bet because he would check/raise with hands that include bare draws. This seems like a great reason to bet imo.

It's a good reason if we're bet/calling it off. There's 200 behind in a 60 pot, so maybe it's a bit deep to happily bet/call. Now that I think about it more I think it's probably okay to bet and call it off. If we're a little shorter then it's a definite bet/call. If we're slightly deeper then it's more of a clear check back to avoid having to bet/fold. If we're deep enough where he can't raise and commit himself, then we can call a c/r and see how the turn comes off. If you feel you can easily bet and call it off, then I can buy that. But basically this hand was just to illustrate this in-between point.

Gotcha, thanks ![]()
its a good video and i will try this when moving up 40bb style
allwind is a very experienced player and he always gives his reasoning behind his actions well
I dug this vid. Interesting concepts on mid-stacking and stack-to-pot ratio. Could be a good way to lessen variance.
This might be an incredibly noobish question that I should already know - but how do you vote on the video?
