Nice starting video
But I always wondered what the final purpose of this series is? To get a newbie to be able to beat what limit? 50nl? 100nl?
I'm asking since I'm a small stakes player
Thanks and keep up the good vids
hey guys - ipod video doesn't seem to be importing to itunes - any ideas why?

micro stakes is 50NL or below. keep in mind the target audience which can be seen in the screenshot preview; these videos are supposed to be extra basic, a jump-start for beginners to online poker.
also, thanks for the compliment ![]()
nice video
You recommend a minimum bankroll between 25 and 50 buy-ins. When do you think it's the right time to move down one limit, if you are on a variance caused downswing.
For example I move up from NL50 to NL100 with a $3000 bankroll (30 buy-ins) and I lose several buy-ins beacause of variance. Is it right that I should move down to NL50 at the latest with a $2500 bankroll?

hi newdevil,
thanks for watching. to answer your question, it is truly a matter of personal preference. are you playing scared money with the 3k bankroll? if so, wait a little longer. sometimes being overbankrolled can cause the opposite phenomonon, where you just spew a lot without regard for money. if you feel comfortable playing 100Nl with 3k, by all means play. but if you drop 5 buyins and have had enough, by all means move down.
your bankroll is a tool that you use to make yourself money. the idea is that with correct management, you'll never run out of money, sort of like a hunter bringing enough bullets to get the job done.
one more thing; its pretty tough to tell whether you lost buyins due to variance or bad play sometimes, and it honestly doesnt really matter much as far as BR MGMT is concerned. all that really matters is your comfort level and to make sure you arent going busto.
Good video guys.
I enjoyed this educational discussion between you tubasteve, and n0whereman.
Giving my basic NL knowledge an overhaul is probably a smart thing for me to do, and so I am looking forward to see more of this good essential stuff.
Cheers

Thanks Fork. Make sure you tune in next week when we actually start talking about playing poker (preflop)!
Ilike the opening it was very very basic but a good outline to the series coming up. Maybe now i can relarn 6max and become good!
Oh and Phil Hellmuth is one of the best poker players ever how you can bad mouth him is unreal ![]()
Good first video even though I didn't learn anything new. If I knew someone who is new to the online scene I would make him watch this. Looking forward to actual poker in the future and hopefully this series will reinforce my fundamentals.
tubasteve!
I promise real poker will be played in this series eventually (next week) ![]()
