Yes, this was too good of an opportunity to miss though. Episode 8 will most likely be the last episode of the series covering the rest of the wcoop footage.

I havent watched it yet but where can we find cash game PL badugi? I thought it was played only in a limit structure. Also is there such a thing as PL triple draw 2-7? that would most certainly be a crazy game!

I don't think PL badugi is spread anywhere, but you never know when it might pop up in a random live cashgame or online.

Stars has PL and NL 2-7 but it's only .25/.5 so that's a bit lowstakes to play as your main game.

@HJD yes another 2 weeks most likely.

They play pot-limit triple draw 2-7 at The International Club in London as part of the regular 2/5 mix game.

Otherwise, I can only find this game ons stars; there is a daily 11$ and 22$ tournament and a bunch of 2.20$s. I did some theory & maths for this game that I'll be posting on my blog in a couple of days that demonstrate how to calculate equity in badugi (in your head, at the table). I'll post a link from here once it's finished.

I played in that game for a short bit, pretty sick! Didn't play the 2-7 round though. Sometimes its spread in PL format in Vegas too, usually at Wynn, but its been a long time since I have seen that.

PL Badugi is spread on the MERGE network (RPM & Carbon). usually the biggest game you can find is .05/1, but on very rare occasions it will run 1/2 and bigger. I probably have less than 50 hours logged, it is a blast to play heads up and short handed.

I watched around 1/2 the vid so far, I think Soepgroente did a fantastic job, his assumptions were spot on based on my personal experience.

Enjoyed the PL Badugi tournament video. I'm a bit of an afficionado of tournament poker of games not often played. I think there's a ton of value (relative to the small stakes, of course) in these games if you know poker fundamentals enough to adjust to a new game faster than your opponent.

I've had pretty good results in the PL and fixed limit badugi tournaments I've played, on Stars and live (I finished 2nd in the only limit badugi live tournament I ever played). I've racked up several wins in these small tournaments (usually only a few tables at best) and won a satellite into the WCOOP badugi yesterday. Work may keep me from playing that, but I really hope to sneak out a few hours early since I think this might be one of the biggest advantages present in the whole WCOOP for players with a semi-clue.

I agree with *TT* in that Soepgroente is absolutley right in a lot of the plays he preaches. Most people (including I when I first started playing) try too hard to make those 8/9/T badugis when you are usually better off making the strong 3card with showdown value instead. I've tended to be more of a pot-sized bet pounder in the PL Badugi tourneys-I've basically turned it into a game of chicken with the stubborn calling stations. That's probably a leak though, as a bit more finesse will probably work even better against poor players.

I definitely felt like I learnt a lot doing this video. The value of a good 3-card is definitely a little more important than I was giving credit for. I think we really hammered that point home by the end of the video Grin

However, I do think that against a certain type of weak-loose-passive player that there is some merit to taking a "stronger" drawing line simply to garner extra FE on the end (or earlier) - I had a fairly nonSD oriented plan and I find that the draw2/draw1/pat line gets a lot more suspicious bluff-catching than d1/d1/pat or d1/d1/d1 - I guess this is balanced by extra value for your premium 3-cards though so it really depends on how people are reacting to you.
