utg is 29/18 with a f3b of 67 over 500hands, he snap calls when he has a marginal hand/weak top pair and takes a few secs when he's value betting.
cold caller is 50/31 over 36 hands.

Playing this flop seems pretty straight forward to me, but the turn card makes it very difficult to barrel. When I saw the flop I was intending on barreling halfpot on 3 streets on all turn bricks and face cards. The turned Q pretty much froze me up b/c I think villain will now think my range is polarized for continuing to bet and will just call me down. I don't think he'd think I'd barrel aa or kk still and given his pf calling range, he has more aqs in his hand than I would most of the time. I don't think he realizes this though. Should I be giving up here on this turn? or any turned 89t? After the flop call I put him on a mid pair. If the river's an a/k I would put in a 2/3rd pot bet and fold to a raise. What do you think if the 2 or 5 of hearts hit? Which one would prompt me to follow through more? is there a difference? is any heart good for me, or bad for me on the turn for me to continue? My inclination is that most hearts are good and that I'd continue with my game plan.

We mentioned this hand towards the end of EP7, my general take on the hand is as follows:

The initial squeeze is ok, I'd rather not have a 2 in my hand but we are suited with a high card.
His calling range is hard to define, I doubt he is super light so med PPs, slowplayed monsters, AQ,KQ,AJs,QJs,JTs(?) probably make up the most of it.
The problem with this range is that it hits this flop so the cbet is far from straight forward and I think you should probably c/f.

The only way I'm cbetting here is if I have at least a bdfd that I can jam on the turn if I pick it up. Because I'm trying to sell QQ+ I'd bet the flop 3/4+ and jam if I picked up TP or a FD (provided the board didnt pair). Even then it's kind of flow dependant because I think he has to hero fold some Qx which is really difficult to imagine.

If you think I'm off on the ranges let me know.

I don`t understand why the negative EV is higher when we bet turn when checked to instead of checking it back
I mean, he will never bluff according to your assumptions the river, right?
So it should be better to bet the turn to make PotEQ-Shares to fold?
He anyways has only a C/F-range here, according to your assumptions.

I know its little old thread but i want to ask about pokerrazor calculations

hand example (from vid) is

we open 3,5x in LP and we call a 3bet IP (villain is 3beting 15%)

i was using pokerrazor lately and i noticed that its little strange

couse (im not sure how u did your calcs) pokerrazor is assuming that

if villain isnt 3beting he is folding right ?
so 85% of the time we are taking the pot pre which is huge and im not sure but i guess we cant use EV of a final stack as a measure couse it gives us all that EV when villain folds which isnt the case, he is calling some of the time

so the point is shouldnt we use EV of a decision once we are on the flop and are considering to call fold or jam ?

here is an example of a hand that made me think about this:

5/10 game

we have TT in SB and we open

BB 3bets us with 2.6% (AK, QQ+) and the rest he folds which is 97,4%

we 4bet to 260 always

and BB goes AI always

we call always

and the EV of a final stack is ~1002

so the 4bet/call is clearly bad but the EV of final stack shows its good couse he is folding so much pre

just looked that u can use also a EV of a finel stack on the flop (i was looking at preflop EV pf a final stack

NEVERMIND Poke Tongue anyway very useful program

and very good series Smile
