Enjoyed the series. Being a MTT grinder is tough and I don't envy you.
The crew (IWEARGOGGLES, DJ Sensei, and Vanessa) wrap up the series by finishing the tournaments out and reviewing the series as a whole a bit.
Throughout the course of the season follow DJ Sensei and fslexcduck as they spend one entire Sunday with IWEARGOGGLES, picking his brain and building a primer that hopes to be the definitive guide to beating online and live tournaments.

I liked the format.
I enjoyed the personality dynamic.
This was an absolutely awesome series guys. I'll probably be rewatching it and taking notes this time. I would like to know what happened in that UB $500. Seemed like you had a good shot at taking it down.

I continued recording hoping there would be another video at some point, but I think I lasted another 6 minutes in that tournament. ![]()
Thanks for the responses.
When you get down to the last couple of tables in a tournament (like the UB 500) do you ever open up the other tables in the tourney for observation to try to start picking up reads in preparation for the final table? Or are you just playing to many tables already to make something like this practical?

If you don't want to openraise the A5o from the SB because he's flatting and/or reraising with a lot of hands, why not just limp. I often do this in this exact kind of situation. I obviously balance that by sometimes limpfolding, sometimes flatting or 3-betting - depending on hands and stacksizes obv. Doing this i get into situations I encounter far more often than opp. and am quite nicely deceiving my hand...
Any thoughts on that mb?

Vs that specific opponent who had been very aggressive in position and opening his game up it's extremely difficult to play that hand out of position with those stack sizes. It would be pretty easy to end up in a big pot and a marginal situation while putting our very nice 70xBB stack at risk. He had been letting Luke get away with a lot on his button / CO as well so we can just keep getting chips there.
just imo though. Luke is obv better then me, but that's the reason that I will fold the really bad aces from the SB vs good players.
I dont exactly see how we`re putting our stack at risk by openlimping. If he raises, we can just fold too - lost onle .5BB and started establishing some history. I doubt he´s going to raise the next time we´re limping...
What if we limp and spike an ace? Versus a very aggressive player that is in position, we will be either risking our whole stack often or folding the best hand often.

if he is very aggressive (which as far as I remember is not the case), we check the flop - get some value later - it's a limped pot and we're 70BB deep or such - almost impossible to go broke...
Luke, Do u have a backup internet conection. And a back up power conection. When 1 of them fails?
I do think my brain gonna exploded when im playing the high scoops. And 1 of them fails.

I think that every semi-serious or serious grinder should have a backup connection and power available. I personally have a 3G connection available with a few clicks if my network connection goes down (cheap insurance, around ten bucks per month).
After I lost about 200$ in buyins after a power outage, I have started keeping a fully charged laptop ready with the poker sites installed I play on. 3G + laptop works even after power and network is out. Even though grinding in a dark room is scary.

Ok im gonna invest in a 3g network for my laptop. And mayby some Volts for extra power![]()
