Wow, even I think that's bad.
Should we make a "Help me get back at my aunt" thread?
on the bright side, my bookmarks file increased by 15%.

Wtf, first she told you she wants to give you money for a car and now it turned out she was just kidding?

update: put $900 of repairs into my car. the highlights were a new axle and brake master cylinder. i had no idea a new axle could make such a difference. the car seems to have more power and shifts neater (*snick* *snick*). we're driving this 'til the wheels fall off, baby!
next item on car shopping list: VTEC stickers.

Pretty fishy that the Toyota Camry is not in the top 100 and the Corolla is #91.
This thread makes a me a little sad every time I read it. Life is too short for boring cars IMHO.
Spending money making the world a better place > nice cars imo. I much prefer getting a reliable car with minimal maintenance costs and using the $ saved to fund a personal passion of mine. Like SR said, not everyone cares about cars. To each his own ![]()

Ya this is me too. I get approximately zero happiness from driving a car - I've driven 145mph in a corvette before, so it's not like I'm clueless to the potential joys of a car - so spending any more money than absolutely necessary on a car is -EV for me. If it makes someone happy to have a fast/shiny/awesome car, that's great. I'm of the opinion that you should spend whatever you can afford on the things you really love, as long as you're saving money on the things that don't matter.

I just hate spending money on things of low quality. Then I would rather not buy anything at all. But I guess a car is needed in the US more often than in the EU.
Agree that quality is very important, but I think Accords fill that role nicely.

I never said I want a shitty car, I just want the essentials and nothing else. There's plenty of low flash, high quality cars.
Yeah, can't beat Honda for quality. Or boring design. Still, I've taken mine out on track a handful of times and it's a pretty fun whip around. And nothing broke and I didn't wear through brake pads like a BMW. Drove to track, raced, drove home.
I think improva meant overall quality though. I think he meant he'd spend for higher end rather than settle. You can't beat bang for the buck on a Honda, but now that the S2000 is gone, you also can't find a Honda with any soul.
I would never buy a jaguar convertible, they just cost too much and are not reliable. However, I think you have a positive EV on this one no matter what car you buy, so this is your golden opportunity. Don't blow it.
