I would love to work for the BMW...who knows, maybe I will have a chance, I have already sent them my cv.

oops, mistranslation. i meant, i would have to earn money to buy a BMW. but good luck with getting a job at BMW. your passion for BMW really shines.

Obv I don't encourage you to buy E39, it's a car for a real fan, since it is quite old and requires lots of attention, money, etc. But its outlook is just outstanding, after 16 years it still looks great.
5-series are limousines, maintenance costs are much higher.

And btw what do you mean by "gift-gift"?

ok, that makes sense.

by gift-gift, means i'm getting gift in cash from my aunt. i thought it was something else before where she only wants me to buy a car, wants to know how much it is, would only send enough money to buy that car. i have translation difficulties with my aunt too. Undecided

The Fit is a pretty good car. You won't win many races in it, but a subcompact that can fit a couch in it is pretty cool.

yup, and supposedly more back cargo room than a Ford Explorer. the only problem i'm having is convincing people it's more than just a cheap subcompact.

anyway, i think it has a really cool mecha look.

cool shot in the wild

Cargo space comparison with Ford Explorer? Not even close.....unless you have 3 rows of passengers behind the driver.

Honda FIT and FIT Sport
Cargo Volume (cu ft, seat up/down) 20.6 / 57.3 20.6 / 57.3

Newest Ford Explorer Specs
Cargo Volume Behind First Row [cu. ft.] 80.7
Cargo Volume Behind Second Row [cu. ft.] 43.8
Cargo Volume Behind Third Row [cu. ft.] 21

IMO, you won't find better bang for your buck than with Honda. They lack style, but they own vs any comparable car. Back when I autocrossed, the S2000 used to destroy BMW's roadster and Porsche's Boxster, not to mention Nissan's 350Z. It's a shame Honda usually kills any of their cars with capability and style.
The Fit is no different. It is the king of its class and no one comes close.

"supposedly." guess it was just selective hyperbole. they probably compared the 2 seat mode of the Fit vs 4 seat mode of the Explorer.

Yeah I saw that before I bought mine. The type of crash in that video occurs in something like .5% of car crashes. So if you manage to get in an accident, you have a roughly 1 in 200 shot of it being something this bad. Under the vast majority of normal crashes, the car does plenty well. It's a very small car, though, so it certainly has safety limitations - as the comments say, the laws of physics still apply. If absolute safety is priority #1, you want a volvo I think (or a tank Poke Tongue).

You can't go by what the car looks like after the crash. My brother got hit at 50mph in his old Integra when a lady ran a stop light. T-boned a just a bit further back than where the Fit hits the Accord head on, so different forces, but still similar. The driver's side wheel was where the engine should've been, engine over to the passenger side, hood crumpled like paper, front fender crushed, airbag deployed, etc.. He got out and stopped people to be witnesses and only had a sore back from it.

thanks for the reassurance, guys. i guess it just looks worse than it is. and the good thing about the FIT is that it's small and nimble so i can have a better chance of avoiding those pesky red light crashers.

but next time i'm feeling unusually paranoid, i'll just take the bus. Smile

actually, just saw someone run a red light down the street from my house. the car was stopped at a red light, then just took off into oncoming traffic (turned left when cars were coming from the right)... wtf.
