SERIOUSLY, WHAT FUCKING KIND OF RANGE DID YOU PUT ME ON?

He literally asked me that about 10 times. I should have said "range? What the hell is that?" I just shrugged and sat there. About an hour later he started talking about the hand again and asked me if I would have called smaller bets because his overbets polarized his range. I just said I didn't know. He was the type of player who liked to throw around technical terms to the table and to his girl sitting behind him, but I don't think he knew how to implement his "knowledge" in real time.

It's most definitely a self-level if you with no history whatsoever are thinking some random 1/3 player is thinking about your perceived image. Even if you are up against a value only QQ+.AK range, with all the dead money it's not going to be a huge mistake. What we are essentially doing if we fold is saying that someone only reships on their straddle with KK+, now here's the thing, many of the nits who only get it in pre KK+ will never straddle in the first place, so the probability of him stacking off wider than KK+ is greatly increased by the fact that he has straddled.

I can agree with this. I'm pretty sure I didn't factor in the fact that he straddled enough when deciding what to do.

There are a lot of "preflop jamming nits" (i.e. only jam KK+ preflop) who straddle. I think the fact that he is in his 20s is probably more relevant. People of his age have internalized poker much differently than older live pokers.

"Polarize the range? Are you talking about bringing arctic air to the plains?"

I don't think this is an insta-call because live players just don't make huge all-in bluffs very often.

No but they do make hilarious overplays. This is a snap call for me.
