QQsd CO, folded to me, bet 12, SB & BB call, I have both covered, Flop 9K9hh, SB donk 25, BB fold, I tank for min, RR to 65, he ships, I instant fold... shows AKo
$140
4th hand dealt in session. First tango with this SB villain ($150). General assumption is Weak player = Donk Bet = Strong hand = Protection. He could be protecting/probe betting with TT/JJ. I don’t put him on a 9 or FD
I wanted to remain the aggressor. Folding is too weak and I’d feel like a push over. Calling gives me no more info. I min RR for info/value. But then I should ask, we have NO history together, why would he donk into me? I instantly thought I should stick to my GUT, but as usual, think giving the villain credit for real hand always is exploitable. I like my play.
Pot dynamics
PF = $40
Flop = $25 + $65 = $130
His Shove is 130 = $265
$65 for me to call
265:65 = 4:1 I have to be right 1 out of 5 or 20% of time to make this profitable call
Or is it 330:65 = 5:1 = 1 out of 6 = 16%
Pay him off or go with GUT?
T9o BB, UTG1 limp, UTG3 bet 8, HJ call, I Iso to 30, UTG1 puts last 5, (UTG2) calls stack A9c... Wins A high
$125
I decide to experiment with my Air:Nut “3Bet” range. I have TAG image. I can so I hardly ever make this play. Maybe wrong table to make play since most are Short stacked
I asked UTG2 if she could read my soul...Since she never played a hand with me before

If you're playing $1/$2 live, then you don't need an air:nut 3b range. This is just total spew and you're thinking way too much. These games play the equivalent of $5NL or $10NL online. Sorry to sound so harsh....

Thank You. How about at a live 2/5 deep stack game with regulars?

Of course the better the players the more you need to be concerned with balance, but I think 3b w/ something like K3s or A4s for your air is going to be a lot better than T9o...especially out of position.
Also, have you played with ranges in pokerstove to see the difference in equity of different 3b bluffs vs 3b calling ranges?
I don't like the min 3b in the first hand. How is it for value at all?
the raise/fold on the first hand is so bad imo. if he can show up with a flush draw or Tx (which imo is possible live and readless) the folding getting 4:1 is terrible. i think we should call at least once otf and re-eval ott. some live players wont barrel anything we beat so we can fold if he bets or bet if he checks.
2nd hand is total spew. with 2 people so short, you should never "bluff" here, and in general at 1/2 you dont want to 3bet air anyway, as people dont fold alot preflop.

Ya looks like a gross "information raise"
