Well, there is no hand he "should" call you with that you beat here, but that never stops people, I think you have a thinnish bet.

I think most villains, if they made a straight on the river would bet out. The board is just too scary to risk trying for a check raise, because it's likely to be checked through. If villain had two pair I don't think he would check raise either because he would be worried we had a straight.

I usually check behind in these situations, and when I do I usually find I have the best hand and that villain probably would have called with a pair of tens or something.

What would you guys do if you do bet the river and the unknown villain raises. It would seem like an easy fold, but villains raise would not make a lot of sense to me, so I might be tempted to call.

As mentioned previously I don't think many people would try for a check raise with a straight on this board because the hand is going to get checked through too often. I also don't think many people would try for a check raise with two pair because of how scary the board is. So the check raise could be a bluff with a missed flush draw. I could see lots of villains just calling the flop and turn with a flush draw because of their position in this hand.

I check behind the first time. If it were UTG still in the pot, I bet. BB gets a little respect until I see something stupid.

deep, yes - like dd says, not a lot *should* call but i think enough worse *will* call, especially given the game texture these days, that it's a bet.
