when i was playing mainly fullring on stars, maybe two years ago or so, i was trying to work on the idea of checking 100% of the time when i was in the blinds and had 3 or 4bet it in very multiway spots pf (say 4+ people). i never really fleshed it out or did it that much in practice but the general idea was that in the 5/10 or higher games, someone would usually bet on the flop. and by not-cbetting multiway i could be balanced and maybe add some deception ie "he has AK ui." then when you had AK you didn't feel a little silly firing out ui very multiway, and when you had big pairs you could check and often checkraise or check3bet the guys in late position who were getting frisky.

in that situation, the potential balance issue arose because the ranges were so narrow because of the fullring game. here, the ranges are much wider, but the average player/game is much tougher, and i'd assume the main reason you're looking at balance in this spot is for deception/information gathering and hiding? being out of position you could somewhat mitigate that disadvantage by checking and seeing what happens. of course, i'm neglecting to mention that cbetting has its advantages too. it seems like if you'd want to check KJ in this spot that then checking QQ as well seems somewhat necessary? i'm guessing you're only employing this in spots where the other guys in the pot are tough regs, and if you cbet the top part of your range and check the rest it seems somewhat figure-out-able and exploitable

Ya i think it should probably bet a board texture thing in general. Like you said, our range is so strong overall that we can probably afford to cbet alot in this spot.

Looking back at this hand, i may prefer it on a slightly drawier board, say QJ9cc or something (if we didnt have a pair) And we can balance by occasionally cr the flop with something like AA/KK.

Basically i think we should be betting the verfy top of our range (sets/2pair/straights) with the view of B/3betting and save our hands like AQ/KK/AA to cr if we want to adopt that strategy. AA/KK isnt in love with jamming a QJ9cc flop multiway with action.

I think we can be pretty unbalanced in multiway spots in general. As long as we occasionally show up with some value cr we should be fine.

How did u find checking in these spots in FR?

Thanks for watching too mate Smile
