I only have 61 hands on the btn here but from those hands his stats are:
VPIP- 48, PFR- 32, 3B- 20.7.
The only read on him I've got so far is that he can Cap junk AX in steal sits as in another hand a tight CO opened, I 3bet in the SB and he capped A8o on the BB.

$10.00/$20 Limit Hold'em - 3 players

Pre Flop: (1.5 SB) Hero is BB with 8 Club 8 Diamond
BTN raises, 1 fold, Hero 3-bets, BTN calls

Flop: (6.5 SB) 5 Spade K Spade 3 Spade (2 players)
Hero bets, BTN calls

Turn: (4.25 BB) J Heart (2 players)
Hero bets, BTN raises, Hero ?

Against many people I'd consider folding here but with no strong reads on this player and just bunch of stats that indicate he's laggy I'm not so sure. I called, though I can't say I'm happy about it, and the river went:

River: (8.25 BB) 9 Club (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets, Hero?

This hits any QT or Q9s hand he may have been semibluffing though I don't know if he'd vbet this riv w J9s. Time to fold now?

Id prob fold the river, 9x is a bad card for us im not sure we lose too much by folding here. Its close though, i could be convinced that calling is correct

i would fold the turn. he raises the flop with most of his semi bluffs. You get owned by Jx with a spade a decent amount. If i called, i would call the river. The 9 isnt great but its not that bad.

Thanks for the replies. Yeh I ended up stationing down without much of a clear thought in my head, pretty much going from what I recall 'well at least the river isn't a spade' and he showed me 8Spade9Spade. Yeh I think you nailed it Nina if he's going to semibluff it's going to be on the more flop much more then the turn and without a specific read telling me he'll delay his semibluffs my default should likely be to just throw it away once the turn gets raised.
I don't like my 3bet pre-f here either. If I'm that worried he'll potentially semibluff all over the place I think seeing a flop and making decisions in a less bloated pot will help a lot.
