Thee's another hand where Nina defends BB with J5s (?) vs Alex and XC, XF on KQ9; 9. I can't find it. I think this is a misstake. I may be reading too much into this, but my guess is that Nina is thinking Alex is spazzy so there is no reason to push a marginal draw. But I don't think Alex will re-bluff and his range is soo wide that he is just gonna b/f a lot of air aswell as Ax (as it turned out he had Q9).

Holecard camera videos are my favorite. I still say there needs to be a whole series with it containing players of various skill levels (could be done on cheezeburger steaks for the beginner types). I learn a lot from being able to see other players thought processes. Make it happen IMO.

DoT, I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not, but I can think of at least 11 hours of video like this on the DC site (excluding this one and the first installment) and they range over a few different experience levels/stakes.

I would guess he's going to bluff rivers when Alex checks behind the turn. I think this is probably pretty effective since we're hoping Alex folds a high or an underpair when we c/r anyway.

It's important to realize that Nina probably is a bit more passive in general on this board texture so his value betting range when Alex checks back the turn here is wider than mine, for example.

I lost my credit card and so can't upgrade my membership to watch this. Fucking pissed. Besides that, I monkeyed around raising super loose preflop, mostly because I folded quite a bit early on and I found that people were playing very straight-forward, not wanting to look clownish 3betting marginal hands.

If I'm new to a table and nobody really knows me, if I don't get any cards early on, I'll start monkeying around later because people see you folding folding folding, they figure he's playing tight and proper.

And vice versa, if I was getting good cards and winning before SD, I'd tighten up because people would start to take shots/3bet lighter, thinking I'm playing loose and aggressive.


All that aside, it's a lot like KPR's reasoning for 3betting bottom pair, I just felt like it It's not optimal to raise the hands I did UTG etc, but it makes for a more interesting video/game.

I'm personally barreling this board a lot beause I find people XC a lot of Tx, Jx and XR many stronger hands. Thus I believe I have a profitable second barrel with just about anything. That's what I meant by: "I think u do", I believe Alex will fire again at a high frequency.

I have watched them all. My favorites on the site. It may be just me but I do really learn a lot from them in addition to them being far and away the most entertaining.

We have 77 in capped flop on 468 flop, two spades and we have 7s. DeathDonkey says something like, we have 4.5 outs. Can you elaborate how you got to that?

I figured we have something like 6 outs (4 gutters and 2 sets) and even if you discount that (which is not really, since capping ranges don't hit that flop except maybe 88). Or are you discounting so much, because of a possible FD like AK? I thought we are up against overpairs like 100% and we just play our odds correctly.

Having said that, BB 3betting and UTG capping is a concern of course and 5:1 getting 6 outs + implied odds is quite borderline. Tough spot, imo.

Yeah I guess you are right I might have been a bit pessimistic there. I think in general people overestimate their outs a little bit though so I think the concept is reasonable (to discount the outs). But yeah with that preflop action I was on the pessimistic side.

in this hand where UTG Opens, OTB 3bet and you are in BB w/AK.

Is another reason NOT to cap the idea that you will gain info about UTG hand strength? UTG would rarely be weak enough to fold for 2 extra, and if he WAS, we figure to need a hand to win anyway?

the way it is now, the BB has the initiative in a hand where he is missing 2/3 time vs 2 opps who have position. This is offset somewhat by any flop bet forcing UTG to decide while not closing the action.

If I was going to put in 4 bets I would prefer 3 pre flop, and then maybe a donk on the flop to put UTG to a decision? If if gets capped pre, I can evaluate both the UTG AND OTB before I need to act in most spots.

would any of this change if it was AKs? I would not think so for me, but perhaps for y'all?
