Online $5/10. 6-handed at the time. UTG (55/16/1.5) raises, next coldcalls, one more coldcaller, SB folds and I call with A2cc in the BB. The flop is 2Diamond3Spade6Club and I bet. UTG calls. Other two muck (I game select good).

The turn is the 8Club. I bet. UTG raises. I decide I'm calling down UI and checkraising if I improve.

Boring?

I agree with Oink, I'd check/call flop and possibly donk turn. I'd fold on the flop for 2 bets and be happy to get out of the way.

well played imo until the river.

I like the flop donk because UTG will pop it with all his big Ax hands trapping himself into a 3 outer where we can b/3bet the turn. If we c/c the flop we are looking to dodge a ton more hands because stuff like QT calls the flop for 1 sb.

On the turn, sweet. We improved. I bet and have to call.

If we improve on the river I think we need to bet. His line suggests monster or high-card. He pays off both but we can make 3 from a monster. Like an ace I will always donk here.

I think it's either way though. But flop donk is how i play it fo' sho'.

I think with a 6.5 out hand that is often best check-folding for two is giving up a ton. UTG will bet often but my hand is super vulnerable and the pot is already 9SB. He's also prone to being spazztarded at the very least (yes, I know, generalizing based upon stats but this guy ain't good) so my hand can withstand a raise from him and I don't mind the pot getting a little larger if I can clear the field from calling the flop with QTo.

I think nothing other than a set raises a river bet. People get really passive on the river. I think both bluffs and pairs/sets will bet the river and my hand really doesn't look like a backdoor flush if I checkraise (I have to have exactly A3cc or A2cc basically). I'm pretty surprised you think his weaker hands are calling a river bet if I go donk, donk-call, donk on an Ace, a deuces, or a club. Granted AK might raise the river if I river an Ace but I don't think I get 3bets from very many hands and I don't think AK is weighted super highly in his range here since I have the Ace-high club draw.

If we check flop and it goes bet-fold-raise behind us am I crazy for wanting to call two?

A little, but that's why I bet rather than check.

Alright, since everyone is an expert that agrees with each other here, someone has to be the idiot.

Are we definitely good often enough to show down unimproved here no matter what the river is? Maybe so, given that this guy appears to be more aggro postflop than most 55/16 morons, but I don't feel like it's a given, especially since he waited until it was HU to raise a bet from his immediate right.

Also, wtf called 2 cold preflop and then folded closing the action to a BB donk on that flop!?
